Понравилось Quiet site, good size pitches fantastic location with friendly helpful owners. The showers and toilets were clean with plenty of hot water. If I could pick a negative the shower/toilet portacabin is a little dated but all the positives outway this. They have new wifi but where out pitch was located there was no access. We would 100% visit again.

Понравилось Amazing, Awsome in every way. The whole four-night experience was excellent.
From the very warm welcome on arrival to our final goodbye- till next time.
Excellent for all the coastal resorts we visited, as well as the local forest drive, walks and visiting the village. Absolutely ideally placed.

Понравилось Site was very spacious, clean and well maintained. Showers and toilets were clean and more than adequate. Andy and James (the site managers) were very helpful and friendly.

Не понравилось Nothing really to dislike. My only criticism was the WiFi was very hit and miss but if you don’t need it it’s not an issue.

Понравилось Location was good plenty of places to see but you have to use car nothing walkable

Не понравилось I was there the same time the other person who charged his phev,
The owner asked me had I charged my vehicle so of course I was honest and said I had, well he nearly had a breakdown and accused me of being a thief,
The toilet block was an old builders welfare unit it was clean and adequate but located next to farm machinery and it smelled of petrol and engine oil,absolutely nothing in the village

Понравилось Beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
A lovely rural setting with plenty of potential. The location itself is very pleasant and makes for a relaxing stay.
The site has the foundations of what could be a really enjoyable place to stay.

TV signal was poor during our stay.
The on-site Wi-Fi was very poor and, at times, didn't work at all.

Our main concern was the way an issue regarding charging our hybrid car was handled.

I was charging my hybrid car, which has a relatively small battery capacity. I always check the terms and conditions of every site before doing this, as I fully understand that some sites specifically prohibit EV or hybrid charging. Having checked the terms and conditions before our stay, I could not find anything stating that vehicle charging was not permitted.

At around 9pm on our first evening, the site owner came to our caravan and demanded that I come outside immediately. When I did, his approach was very aggressive and included foul language. I explained that I had checked the terms and conditions and that there was no mention of charging vehicles being prohibited.

Had there been a clear rule stating that charging wasn't permitted, I would have respected it without question. Equally, if I had simply been politely asked to stop charging, I would have had no issue doing so.

Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled left both myself and my partner feeling uncomfortable and on edge for the remainder of our stay. It's a real shame, as the beautiful surroundings could make this a lovely site, but the experience with the owner significantly affected our overall impression.

Firstly, the ladies’ toilet and shower facilities were newly installed last year and are maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness, so we were rather surprised to see them described as “quite dated and would benefit from refurbishment”. We appreciate that tastes differ, of course, but “dated” does seem a rather unfortunate description for facilities that are, in fact, not 2 seasons old yet.

Secondly, we are aware that the Wi-Fi and TV signal can be weak on the campsite, and this is something we are actively looking at improving. However, given our rural location, both mobile and broadband connectivity can be somewhat limited, and this is unfortunately not something that can be entirely overcome by the site itself. In fact we have just completed commissioning of new fibre connection and new WiFi system over the complete site. The same applies to the television signal. We are sorry that this affected your stay, but we do feel it is worth acknowledging that these are, to a significant extent, limitations associated with our location rather than a lack of attention to the facilities we provide.

With regards to the issue surrounding EV/hybrid vehicle charging, there is an important distinction to make. Vehicle charging is not a facility provided by the site, and we do not permit guests to use the site’s electricity supply to charge their vehicles. One would not, after all, fill up a normal petrol car using the proprietor’s own fuel for his machinery simply because the site’s terms and conditions did not specifically say “petrol is not provided”. We appreciate that you checked the terms and conditions, but there is actually no facility on this particular website for us to select an option stating that EV charging is prohibited. The absence of a specific restriction is not quite the same thing as an invitation to use a service that has never been offered. Where something is not advertised as a facility, we would suggest that the sensible approach be to ask rather than assume - particularly when it involves using the site’s electricity supply.

It is unfortunate that this disagreement overshadowed your enjoyment of the site and its surroundings. We will, however, continue to look at ways of improving the facilities and making the information available to guests as clear as possible.

Понравилось We absolutely loved our stay here. The campsite is immaculate and beautifully maintained, set within a gorgeous old orchard which made it such a pretty and peaceful setting.

It’s exceptionally quiet and peaceful, with the adults-only atmosphere making it perfect for a relaxing break. The pitches are large and spacious, with a water tap conveniently located right next to the pitch and EHU within a good distance.

The location is fantastic too, sitting nicely between Pickering and Scarborough, and just a short distance from Dalby Forest, which has some beautiful walks to explore. It’s also very dog-friendly, which was a huge bonus for us.

The facilities are clean, spacious and well maintained, including an accessible toilet, and the rubbish and waste disposal areas were also clean and tidy.

The owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Overall, this was a fantastic campsite in a beautiful location. We’d definitely recommend it and will happily return! ☺️

Не понравилось The only downside for us was the Wi-Fi. It wouldn’t put us off staying again, but the signal was quite poor and we generally had to be outside to get a connection, and even then it could be a little hit and miss.

Not really a dislike, but the turning out of the camping field was quite tight, particularly for a newbie like me! 😅 I had a bit of a close call when turning out, although thankfully managed to sort myself out with a bit of manoeuvring. I’m sure navigating smaller spaces will come with experience! 😊

Neither would put us off returning though, and overall we had a fantastic stay.

Понравилось Everything good. Shown our pitch and facilities by mum. Lovely lady. Owner came to see us later. Nice and peaceful site. Facilities very clean, toilet, sink and hand dryer in each cubicle. One shower cubicle in the Ladies but never had to wait. Would recommend

Понравилось Lovely quiet site! Nice spaced out pitches, the facilities were nice and clean! Owners lovely and met us on arrival! Nice walks from the site! Good pub a short walk away! Fresh eggs in the village! Good base for exploring surrounding areas! Would definitely stay here again! :)
