Brook House Farm Camping and Caravan Site

Gostou Absolutely lovely lodge and site, The potting shed cafe and bar has a nice shop inside too and the homemade food was amazing. Julia made a fuss of my daughter and its very child friendly site. The facilities are exactly what we would need. Its easy to find on the maps and brings you straight here. The surrounding countryside has sheep and a bull alongside the river. All in all we've loved our stay for my birthday weekend. Thank you for everything Julia from Kev and Catherine-Mae

Gostou Small quiet touring area on gravel.

Não gostou Advertise fishing rights to severn but not much access to river could only see one usable peg.
The small fishing lake had rubbish all round it with plastic chairs in the lake that had obviously been there a while. A smashed up awning left there and used nappies in bag.

Do gestor: Thank you for your review.Our brand new deluxe shower block is now open which you have kindly said were great.
Regarding the fishing lake ,chairs had been left by the lake from the lodges and the wind had blown them in,which have now been pulled out.
Then the so called nappie bag was actually a old pillow,a fisherman had seen a wasp nest in the ground and because it was by his favourite spot had put it over,now the pest control have been and delt with the problem.
Regarding the river there are four pegs.When you were here the gentleman who travels a long way to come specially to fish this stretch,caught a 13 .5 lb barbel and the largest pike he has ever caught and went home a very happy fisherman.Its the river bank.Sorry brookhousefarm was not for you.We cannot follow all our customers to tidy up after them.
But it is checked daily.

Gostou We were upgraded to a different lodge for no extra cost due to a recent fire on the site! Staff were lovely and very helpful! Views were beautiful and scenic, the facilities were clean and easily accessible! Quiet and peaceful place. Car is needed to travel to sites, easy parking on site also! Beautiful area!

Não gostou Arrived at the site to be informed that there were no showers, hot water or washing facilities due to a fire having happened. There was a complete lack of basic facilities, just a port a loo and 1 drinking water tap. There were no showers, no hot water basins, no where to wash up. We were not informed of this prior to our stay, there was no attempt to rectify the situation after having complained. We paid full price for hardly anything. The site was messy, it was extremely disappointing. We would not stay here again.

Do gestor: Thank you for your review.Your first sentence,you state no facilities,if that had been the situation I would have closed the site.
On arrival throughout the situation of the fire , I personally showed every customer and explained were everything was.
We had taken brook lodge off and it has a kitchen and en suite facility.
Also five pora toilets all over the site,plus a porta shower.
There are five points to obtain drinking water from.
The lodges were not affected in the fire so the site was all tidy except were the builders were working.
When you returned the keys ,I asked had everything been ok for you,you said lovely.
Then when you had left the property you asked for a full refund.
Has I explained if you had come to me at any time of your stay and said it was awful I would have refunded you.
Then because I would not refund,has the lodges were all lovely and you had access to facilitate for one night stay ,you gave us a one.
Then my next review on the same day was 10 out of 10.
Thankfully the new shower block is all up and running now..
Sorry Brookhouse was not for you.

Gostou it was a lovely place
the pizzas was lovely but for 2 pizzas and 2 drinks it came to £42.00
it was very expensive

the shops that was there was not open .
the bar was full off stuff it didn't look very good .
to say they had chickens and some other animals they was no where to get eggs
we played £21.00 for fishing and we didn't much as was over grown

Do gestor: Thank you for your lovely review.The old potting shed prices are cheaper than our local pubs in the area,so I do apologise you found it expensive.
The pond does have a few bull rushes at one end but 3/4 of the pool is clear.You paid £7 a day ticket for fishing.Has you know you were talking to the fisherman who had been here all week and had his best fishing ever.12 .5 lb barbel , plus lots more.He did not want to go homeYou said you caught a fish.I asked what you caught and you did not know.shop and cafe was open 9 till 5 bar open till late.
We were putting our Halloween and Christmas decs out in the shop.Sorry it was not for you.

Gostou Warm welcome from the host.
Got exactly what we asked for (grass pitch) it was quiet and peaceful which was exactly what we needed as we (myself and my dog) were staying here whilst completing a dog training course.
Lovely bar, and superb pizza on Friday night.
Warm welcome from the other guests and locals.
Exactly what we hoped for, for our stay. It was our second time here and we will be back!

Gostou The whole camp is lovely, the owner is very nice, very apologetic about the fire damage. It just happens!!
Great shop, and enjoyed my breakfast in their cafe. Free WiFi in cafe.

Gostou Area and look of site when booking.

Não gostou Arrived to find a 'Closed' sign, rang the two phone numbers with no reply. Eventually a man appeared and rang the owner who answered his call.
It appeared that their toilet/shower block had been burnt down a week before and the facilities contained of one builders portable toilet and one portable shower! We were not told about this in our booking and as we had no facilities in our campervan and the owner assumed we were in a caravan this wasn't ideal. A refund was i felt reluctantly offered. I never received the refund and my messages went unanswered.
Apart from not receiving a refund out of courtesy we should have been advised of the washing facilities etc when booking.
Disappointing to say the least!

Do gestor: Thank you for your comment.The cafe/bar are closed on Mondays hence the closed sign.
Yes we have had a fire which has destroyed our shower block but we have got the one in the holiday let which people are using.
I tried to phone you earlier with no answer,to explain we were popping out to purchase the plaster for the new shower block.
When the gentleman who lives here,phoned me.We had a conversation regarding the portable toilet,that we would be back within half an hour and I would open up the holiday let which they could have sole use of for that evening.Which is newly all done out.
But you chose to leave before we got back.
Our new shower block will be all up and running by the end of this week 25 th/9.
