Gostou Location, solitude, good shower.

Não gostou Lack of facilities - no washing up sink, worst of all, not even a bin on site so we had to load rubbish bags on to motorcycles and take them to the nearby village. Pitches are slightly sloping - enough to notice when trying to sleep.

We had a very enjoyable stay but at £140 for 3 nights (two tents, two motorbikes I would expect some basic facilities.

Do gestor: We're glad you had a very enjoyable stay and enjoyed the peaceful location and hot shower. The price is standard for the area and the facilities are clear on the listing, which you could have checked when booking. Seems a bit unfair to mark down cleanliness for not being happy about facilities, clearly stated.

Gostou Peaceful, small campsite with beautiful surroundings, perfectly situated for day trips to Aberystwyth and Borth. Friendly, helpful and communicative hosts. We loved watching the red kites flying over us.

Gostou It was quiet

Não gostou All looks very run down. Very basic facilities. Owners are tricky and unfriendly. Spent most of their time pestering us for an extra £10 (on top of the over £100 pre paid booking) for my 9 year old who was with us for 2 nights out of the 4. Said I would sort the £10 before we left (family of 5 on holiday 3 young children 2, 3 and 9) threatened to cancel our booking and make us leave at 7pm with 3 young children over said £10 not reaching them quick enough.. (we still had 3 nights left of our booking at this point.. not like we were doing a runner..) Didn’t seem to mind that my 2 year old put her hand in cat poo in the communal fire pit…. When I made site owners aware they said ‘sorry to hear that’ I then had to send another text explicitly asking that they clean it up?! Which they did in the end. Cows in the barn next door screamed in distress all night one of the nights we were there. No one on site got any sleep. Owners sent out a text explaining that the cows had been left without water (?!) for over 12 hours and this was the cause of their distress.. all really odd. This part of wales in gorgeous I would advise avoiding this campsite at all costs as there are many other sites available in the area. Probably with more personable and accommodating owners..

Do gestor: Lara took it upon herself to not pay for her whole group when she booked (as we reasonably require), promising in writing to pay the difference on arrival. She then repeatedly dodged and was openly hostile to paying for 48 hours despite our attempts to make it easy by providing a online link etc... She sent a single text both telling us that her young child had touched cat poo and asking us to clean it up. There was a short delay between this and us cleaning it up, while we finished our breakfast. No second request was required. The cows next door are not our business and we too were affected by their noise due to the rare event of their well running dry. As a courtesy to guests we enquired with the farmer what had happened and informed people, to reassure that it wouldn't happen again. Among all the guests on site only Lara took issue with this situation as if we had done something wrong. This of course, was after she had been forced to cough up the tenner she was avoiding paying.

Gostou Two clean proper toilets, one with a shower (you need to pay).

Lovely quiet location only a short drive from Borth Beach and Aberystwyth

Gostou Quiet location, convenient for Aberystwyth. Seemed completely in the countryside away from it all, but still has shop, station, takeaway and pub within short walking distance.

Gostou CampSiriol was great. Everything was just as described so we weren't expecting great luxury, but we were really pleasantly surprised. The camping field is kept really nicely, with lovely wild margins and nice smooth mowed areas to pitch tents (a slight slope but nothing too difficult), there are beautiful views all around. The shower costs £1 (as advertised) but this gives you 10 full minutes of properly hot water in a nice warm (and very clean) indoor bathroom (made a world of difference since we chose the only 2 days of apocalyptically bad weather of the summer so far!) - I expect this might be in high demand when the site is full, but there was only us and one other tent. Everything felt very well organised and safe too (I had my 9 yo son with me and he enjoyed it). We didn't meet the owners but had very friendly and helpful communication with them via messages - they even checked on our tent when we were off-site and the wind unexpectedly got really strong. It is a very easy 15 minute walk from the train station and we got buses to Borth and Aber with no problems.

Will definitely come again and am very keen to get involved in the yoga/shiatsu massage offered by one of the owners in a yoga studio next to the campsite. Heard from a local that it is really great.

Não gostou not a dislike really, more of a suggestion for improvement - would be great to have a kitchen area - even just an outdoor (but covered) washing up station.

Nice small site one field and no cars on field (they stay on driveway area)

Não gostou Only one bathroom wasn’t an issue for me as no one else stayed but could be problematic if there were more campers

Gostou The wheel barrow to get my bag down into the field and back up, the water tap at the top of the field, and the metal chair by the fire pit (I didn’t light a fire but I ate my supper there and looked at the views. I also liked the clear light - pollution - free sky in the night.

Não gostou The £1 meter for a shower. I booked on the hoof via my phone and didn’t see the warning that the showers cost money. I had no pound coin, so no shower.
The previous night I had stayed in a small site where the shower was free, and it makes a difference to offer that hospitality.

Gostou Location was quiet and pleasant. Parking available. Everything was set out clearly. Quite a pretty area.

Gostou Great location to many beaches. Quite small campsite which we love. Clear instructions on arrival so didn't actually meet the owners. Good clean facilities.

Não gostou No washing up facility (although didn't bother us much at all)
