Wood Farm Holiday Park

Gostou The pod we stayed in was very nice, clean and comfortable. The site was also very clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly.

Não gostou The café was not open on a Monday and didn't have a very good menu (burger or pizza only on the one day we managed to use it). Also didn't open until 9am for breakfast so we had to go into Lyme Regis to find somewhere to get breakfast without wasting half the day.

Gostou The view was lovely into the valley, really liked there was a dedicated dog walking field where you get let the dog off the lead safely. The pods were clean and had everything you needed and a great alternative to putting a tent up/down. Easy to get to Lyme Regis and other surrounding areas. Reception staff were lovely- see disliked for other staff letting it down.

Não gostou Found the cafe staff to be quite rude and abrupt, and also felt he wasn’t very nice to the lady working with him (in front of us so made us wonder what he was like when customers weren’t there).
Didn’t feel the late check in after 4pm and early check out 10am were that fair given the size of the pods for a turn around, and didn’t like the fact the park was next to a dual carriageway (traffic noise throughout).

Also requested a pod near our friends and we couldn’t have been put further apart from each other.

Swimming pool was fully booked the day after we checked in (we asked on c/in and were told you could only book one day ahead). Only opened at 10 so useless if staying 1-2 nights.
No other indoor entertainment.

Gostou Great location, very clean showers and toilets. Can't fault this place, me and the children had a great weekend staying here and will definitely be coming back.

Não gostou Washrooms needed a bit of attention, broken window catches and it would be really useful to have a mop to wipe the floor after people shower to clear up all the water from the floor.
Restaurant very pricey.

Gostou Had the best few days here recently. Pod was spotless and clean as was the campsite. Noise from the road didn’t bother us at all and we had no problems with the showers ( you could still get running water from them and they were always clean when we used them) ifnyou wanted to be picky you could but I think there are bigger things to be worrying about these days. It certainly didn’t stop us and we were so pleased with the mini break we will definitely be returning.

Gostou Hi! We wanted to compliment the park and staff on their friendliness and helpfulness. We were welcomed in a most friendly fashion and had such professional and courteous interactions with restaurant, pool, reception and maintenance staff. I'd like to acknowledge the gentleman with the impressive mullet and heavy-metal tattoos. I never got his name but he was so friendly and kind to my kids, it will be a lasting memory!

Não gostou If there was a communal braai/bbq area, that would have pushed my experience over the top!

Gostou We loved our stay at Wood Farm! The camping pod was perfect for our needs.
It had a double bed, bunk bed, table and chairs, a small storage unit and a small clothes drying rack. The bedside lights were a brilliant touch and there were plenty of electric points for charging phones etc.

We also loved the fact they have two fenced in dog walking fields (although we only used one) it was perfect for our dog to stretch his legs and have a good sniff round.

The toilet/shower block was clean with plenty of toilets and showers/toothbrushing sinks so there were no queues at any point and plenty of toilet paper throughout the day. I was surprised there was only one hand washing sink with soap dispenser though, but it wasn't a problem during our stay.

The camping pod areas are at the top of the site right near the little shop, which is handy, although we didn't need to use it. The other facilities are at the bottom of a VERY steep hill but there is parking at the bottom of you have any elderly or disabled members in your group.

I can't comment on the facilities like the pool/play area etc as we didn't use them. The site is very close to Lyme Regis and on the doorstep of Charmouth etc so we were on the beaches most of the time.
There were plenty of dog friendly areas on the beaches even in august so that was fantastic for us.

I've seen a few other reviews about the WiFi being expensive. It is a little pricey, however you can have upto 6 devices connected for the price you pay. The site had very good network coverage though, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely book Wood Farm again.

Não gostou There was only one complaint we had about our stay and that was the cafe. You expect it to be a little pricey as it's an on-site convenience however, it is absolutely extortionate for the portion size you receive.

We ordered two bacon rolls which were each about the size of a McDonald's cheese burger with thin, cheap bacon and were £5.25 which is disgusting now I think of it. Especially when Charmouth has a bakery doing decent size rolls with several slices of thick tasty bacon for much less!
We also had a 'full english' which was tiny for the £8.95 they charge.

Also avoid the milkshakes which had a very weird consistency and tasted very artificial.
