Gostou Super campsite with beautiful, spacious, private pitches. The owner Howard was super friendly and accommodating, and gave excellent suggestions for food and drink and things to do in the area. The site had great amenities (inside toilet, multiple washing up stations and even a fridge and microwave!). We had a great weekend and will definitely look to stay at Bowhayes Farm again.

Gostou The site was beautiful and quiet. The owners gave a warm and informative greeting and were very helpful during my stay. The showers were clean and had good pressure and temperature. Absolutely would recommend this pitch up spot. Super handy to have wheelbarrows on site to cart all my camping gear across the orchard.

Não gostou The toilet and kitchen could use a refresh of paint but it is camping at the end of the day.
Was happy to take my rubbish home but having more bins on site would be helpful.

It's always lovely to hear guests appreciate the farm at that time of year – the apple blossom only lasts a few weeks, but it's a pretty special sight when it's out. Look out for late August / September when the apples are looking splendid - before the harvest in late September (which is also quite exciting!)

Gostou Very quiet - couldn't see any other campers or any artificial light from where I was pitched!

Really appreciate your review — glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet, and that you found a properly dark spot to pitch up! Not seeing other campers (or much artificial light) is exactly what we aim for.

It was great to meet you both on your cycling trip — Bowhayes tends to work well as a simple, quiet stopover for bikepackers, so it’s good to hear it suited you.

You’d be very welcome back any time you’re passing through and in need of a relaxed night in the orchard.

Gostou I was warmly received by Howard and shown the facilities. He was happy for me to choose my pitch between the apple trees and offered to clear the apples away for me. Wheel barrows were available to borrow to move my camping equipment, but I chose not to use them. The shower was great, I had to hang my head torch on a hook to provide illumination because I showered at night. Howard was interested to know the reason for my visit and learned that I would be returning to the site in the early hours, so he left some lights on at the coffee bar. He also recommended a local pub for my Sunday lunch ,but I was unable to go. The farm cat would visit me when he wasn't too busy hunting.

Lovely to read your review, apologies for my delayed response..! Thanks for sharing the photos - they're great. I’m glad you enjoyed the freedom to choose your pitch in the orchard and that everything worked well for your stay, even with a late return.

Good improvisation with the head torch in the shower — not a bad solution! And I’m pleased the coffee deck lights helped when you got back in.
