Gostou Friendliness of owners. Flat pitch. Hot shower.

Não gostou This was one of the cheapest in the area at £25 for non-electric grass pitch of a campervan. A sign said they have new owners and are remodelling. Owners were really friendly but the amenities here are not finished. The shower / toilet block was in need of repair and not clean. It had broken locks / taps etc and bags of cement and other building equipment left in there. Shower was hot.
The washing up area is still breeze blocks and not apparently being rushed to build. Chemical disposal a manhole in the ground which you need to pull off to access a hole. There are bins and a water tap near camping area. It's right next to a 60mph road, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise.
While I did manage to empty my loo, fill up water and get a shower (which are my basic requirements), I cannot say it was a pleasant experience. I do feel they should lower their prices and be upfront that they are renovating. There was only one other van there. If they charged £15, then people would pay this for the convenience of an overnight service and they could even charge £10 for vans to use the facilities without staying. The loos need a really good clean and tidy up. They do have hook-up for those who need it.

Gostou Friendly Staff and other residents. Large level pitches, plenty room! Hot showers and clean toilets! Heater in shower block.

Não gostou The pub didnt exist, the toilets are disgusting , dirty toilets dirty showers , Elson point was out of sight and no signs to show where it was

Gostou Level pitch, not many tourers. Plenty of hot water in shower.

Não gostou The pub is permanently closed. The toilets and showers described as ‘modern’ really were not. My husband said there wasn’t even a hook to hang your clothes or towel in the mens. Not the cleanest. Wear your crocs to shower. It was right on a busy main road. Fields surrounding had masses of litter all along the perimeter.

Gostou Whilst the gentleman who supported and welcomed us was pleasant and we were able to be self sufficient (own toilet, shower, cooking facilities) the toilets, showers were incredibly unclean, run down and absolutely unusable.

Gostou Good basic campsite, easy location to get to local places to visit. Really friendly staff.

Facilities are having work and being upgraded.

Gostou Warden was lovely, and some nice static caravan folks who made a fuss of the dog. He loved it.

Não gostou Main reason, far too close to the road. The traffic noise is awful, like trying to sleep in a layby on the m62.
It is undergoing new management changes, the toilets wern't that clean and the doors took some manipulating till they locked. The spider webs on the cystern were scruffy and Although the smell of flash was over whelming and the toilet rolls were plenty it could have done with a massive bleach scrub and a good old proper clean. The muck had been moved around the floor, not really cleaned and although one shower appeared to be functional (didnt use it) as the other shower curtain was chucked in the floor of the shower next door. Nothing to dry your hands on either. as for the sinks to wash up your dirty dishes? I couldnt bring myself to put my dirty dishes in the sink as the sinks were dirtier than my dishes were( i had made curry) We ended up boiling the kettle and washing out our own dishes in the van.
We were Woken at 4 in the morning by a clash of what sounded like farmyard gates and a car horn to say thanks for opening the gates. I had no idea what that was at the time but now i think about it..
The pub next door was shut, no food or meals available (pleased i brought my own) and nowhere realy to relax. Dont know if this is part of the new management / renovation. Anyway, not impressed at all :( but everyone has an opinion, please go and form your own. Thanks

Gostou Small, quiet and well kept site, ?owner really friendly and helpful, wouldn’t leave until he knew we were settled.

Não gostou We are self contained so didn’t use any of the facilities. There is a road running alongside the site but this didn’t bother us at all.
