High Lodge Farm

Gostou This was our first time camping as a family of 4 and we had a great time (the weather definitely helped). The site it lovely, big pitches and my children loved the hay bales, blocks and climbing walls in the middle. We enjoyed a little walk along the woods and watching the sun set in the evening. We will definitely return next year.

Gostou Absolutely lovely campsite. Very quiet, very relaxed, simple facilities that did the job just right. Friendly and helpful staff.
There were loads of families staying and the hay bales and other equipment for children looked great.
We rented a fire pit, bought some logs, and had a wonderful fire all evening, before heading into our tent and listening to the owls.
We’ve just returned home feeling very relaxed and looking forward to returning soon.

Gostou What a great location in a spacious field surrounded on three sides by mature forest and views out over the surrounding fields and countryside on the other. Little play area in the middle was great for kids to play and make friends, easily viewable from all the pitches. Really nice back to basics campsite with simple facilities (toilets, washing up station, and chargeable hot/free cold showers). Pitches were very large, suitable for big family tent, gazebo, and space for two cars easily. Good value for money. We didnt have much cause to contact the owners, but when we did they were very responsive

Não gostou Minor points only - Although the portaloos were kept clean I'd be on team compostable toilets given the choice and think it would fit with the campsite. I'd also echo other reviews that the bins would benefit from being larger

Gostou Lovely quiet campsite. Running water facilities and respectful campers. Felt like a little pocket of paradise and very relaxing. My son loved the kids play area and made some treasured friends. I loved the information printable we were emailed before our stay. The instructions were clear and detailed and really helped with planning. The prices were also very affordable

Não gostou Only complaint was that the pitches are marked out by posts but there's no rope so it was a little unclear what was pitch and what was road in places. We did eventually figure it out though 🤣 the campsite bins did also get overfull, but sometimes these things happen and it wasn't a huge issue.

Gostou We have stayed at High Lodge Farm a number of times and have always had a great time. We love the location, and the fact that there is so much open space. There are a number of games to entertain the children which is an added bonus.
Toilets have also been improved since our last stay.

Não gostou Showers are £1 for 3 minutes. Would be nice if these were included in the booking price.

Only cold water for washing up.

Gostou Really sweet campsite. Loads of space. So quiet and peaceful. Away from the road so kids were safe to go free. Really sweet touches like a kids climbing wall, football, badminton, building blocks and hay bales to climb on, all free to use.
Loved being able to hire out a fire pit.
Staff were helpful and friendly, easy to get hold of.
Pitches are all marked off and very large. Making it very easy when you arrive.

Não gostou The facilities could be better. No hot water for washing up (hot showers at an extra charge), toilets were very basic portaloos.
It was all fine and well maintained but wouldn't be ideal for a longer stay.
It was slightly tricky to find, but they were quick on the phone to offer directions. My mum used the what three words that were sent with our booking and found that easy to follow.

Gostou The site was well-signposted and easy to find, it was tidy and in a beautiful location. The facilities were basic but adequate for our needs.

Não gostou Portaloos rather than a proper toilet block.

Beyond building a permanent toilet block, which isn't feasible for a pop-up campsite, we find Portaloos to be the best option that generates the least complaints. We've tried everything going, trust us!
