Primrose Smallholding and Camping

Gostou I can’t recommend this site enough. We only stayed for one night but had such a lovely time I only wished we’d stayed for longer. The site is fantastic, lots of games for the children to play and a lovely setting. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We launched our kayaks from lucksall which is just a short drive down the road and paddles down the Wye. Paul was fantastic and extremely welcoming, had some great chats. The best bit of the stay for my wife, mine and my kids was seeing and feeding all the animals. Paul took a group of us to feed all of the animals, goats, pigs, sheep, and chickens. It was so nice and a real memory maker. Brilliant and we will be returning.

Gostou We had a great stay, the campsite is really nice with great views. Paul was an amazing friendly host who has a lot of passion for what he does. There are communal games such as football and swingball as well as the animal feeding tour whuch was really fun. The toilets and showers work well and are really clean, as well as having a fridge and freezer.

This is a very family friendly campsite, amazing value for money and I would highly reccomend

Gostou There is so much to like about this place. I stayed here with my partner, my best friend and his partner. I will start with the owner Paul, he is a very caring and kind man who welcomed us upon arrival. He told us that he was going to be feeding his animals in the morning and invited us (and everyone else) to come and help him do it and see his animals.
We loved the idea so we went along and saw Paul in his element. He showed us feeding his goats, sheep, pigs and chickens which was a really great experience. It was great to see how much he cared for these animals and great to see his strong moral compass when it comes to animal welfare. He also had a fountain of knowledge which he shared with the group as he was showing us around. Everyone felt welcomed.
The campsite it's self was really well structured in a lovely field surrounded by beautiful scenery. We saw a beautiful sunset.
The facilities were great as he provided a large fridge and a large freezer to store food and drinks which was extremely handy as we could safely store our chilled items. I've been to many campsites where this has not been offered so we thought it was a great touch. There was also a shower which worked well, keeping a good stable temperature and toilets were all clean.
In the middle of the field there was a kind of play zone, where there was a football and football net alongside a volleyball/ badminton net, alongside swingball, giant tic tac toe and a tug of war rope. This is great for all age groups but especially for families. I personally thought it was a great set of games to be able to play whilst camping.
Not far away (15 min drive) is Hereford which has lots of restaurants and shops. The highlight for us though, was the day canoe trip. We canoed to Symonds Yat which took us 3 hours (with a stop along the way) and finished at a pub where we got a celebratory drink.
There are fantastic viewpoints and places to walk and we seriously enjoyed the whole stay. All within close distance to the campsite.
To top it all off, we felt we were spoiled due to the cheap price. My partner and I paid £10 each per night. Possibly the best £10 ever spent ;)

Gostou A warm welcome from Paul to a stunningly beautiful campsite. Gorgeous views PLENTY of space. There is a real happy positive vibe amongst campers here. Facilities are well organised, kept neat and very clean. A secure campsite where you can allow the children to explore with piece of mind and and completely relax yourself. Will be back very soon.

Gostou ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely fantastic campsite just outside Hereford! We had such an amazing weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

The campsite has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, and being able to pitch wherever you like in the field makes it feel really spacious and peaceful. It’s perfect for families with children, with games set up to keep them entertained throughout the day.

The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and so knowledgeable. One of the highlights of our stay was watching the children feed and learn about his smallholding. He took the time to explain everything, making it a really special experience that my son absolutely loved.

I honestly can’t recommend this campsite enough. I’d give it 5/5 without hesitation and will definitely be returning with my son and other family members. Thank you for a truly wonderful weekend and some very special memories!

Não gostou If possible open the other toilets as was waiting around in the morning for some time however this minor and is an easy fix as they had more toilet just they was locked.

Thank you for raising the point about waiting to use the loo in the morning, its a fair observation, and as you say, easily remedied as we have 4 loos available on site. That was my mistake but I appreciate the feedback and I will be much more aware of this next time.

Gostou The perfect place to stay for a week or so.
There is a lot of stuff for kids to keep them occupied.

The owner is a great person – really friendly and helpful with clues on where to go, etc.
Lovely hikes around the river, dog-friendly, and campfires are allowed (you can get fire pits from the owner if you don't have your own)

Não gostou camp is close to road and you can hear cars passing be but it was not a big deal for us, but that is only think i can think of.

In terms of road noise, agree there is some during the peak periods but it's a trade off being so close to Hereford which is incredibly helpful whilst far enough away to enjoy the countryside! Gostou An absolute gem of a campsite, small and very personal; the owners Paul and Jane are fabulous hosts. All the essential facilities are available, the toilets and shower were always clean, the provision of fridge, freezer and somewhere to charge devices was really useful. Paul and Jane go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The provision of a badminton net, swingball sets and a large connect 4 was brilliant, and Paul’s tour of the animals on their small holding was thoroughly enjoyable (adults and children alike ☺️). We will most definitely be back!
