Gostou Friendly welcome, lovely bit of the world to visit, some super tuneful cows to wake up to in the morning, good facilities. It was very quiet, which may have been down to the no campfires rule (not the campsite rule, I believe this was the whole of Weymouth that had bbq's and fires banned). Nothing to do but go to bed with the sun! Huge pitches. Relaxed.

Não gostou I prefer more of a wild camping experience, whereas this is a site with set pitches and electric hookup. I don't know how I missed this in the site description as our booking was for non-electric. The site is very exposed so keep an eye on the wind predictions as tents were coming down with gusts of 35mph and above. Bring windbreaks! People with a couple of windbreaks seemed to be faring better. Our pitch was absolutely littered with cigarette butts, which was pretty disgusting. Other campers, eh.

Gostou There is so much to like about this campsite. Super friendly staff, lovely camping fields, great bacon butties in the morning, real toilets and hot showers. Great firepits that you hire by the day supplied with logs and kindling.The animals are fab and the whole site had a friendly, buzzy atmosphere with kids bowling about everywhere. Just a really nice, relaxed and joyful vibe.

Não gostou The site is on a very noisy road, which we didn't expect. Not so bad through the night but the traffic did start early morning. The road has super bright lights so not good for stargazing. And although I don't mind unisex toilets, I do prefer them if there are also urinals because I spent a lot of time wiping up other people's wee before I could use the toilets. The portaloos in the second field were grim and you can hear that plastic slammy door sound all the time. The second field has a benefit of being close to the animals but is very sloped, so some of the pitches are on the hill. You can choose your own pitch though. Also note that the site does allow group bookings, so we were treated to drunk people shouting and finding themselves hilarious until 2 in the morning. There are signs saying no noise after 10 but this isn't enforced. Camping is only as good as your neighbours!

Do gerente: You can choose where to camp, it's up to you. If you camp near the road and street lights it will obviously be noisier and brighter. If you want quieter and darker, you can camp in the middle of the farm, 300 meters away from the road. That is very true that 'camping is only as good as your neighbours'. We do enforce no music after 10pm, but this isn't nursery school, and as much as I'd like to sometimes, we can't make campers go to bed at 10pm. We very much encourage respectful behaviour at the camp, we are not a festival or rave. If you want to party and don't case about other campers, please don't book our site, we are not right for you. Gostou This is a very unique and quirky site and some parts of it, particularly around the lake, and the views of the hills, are so beautiful. At first the camping and animal areas seemed a little ramshackle but this is such a charming site with such a special atmosphere, that this is soon overlooked. There was a camping field overlooking the lake but it may be that you need to request these pitches well in advance. The facilities are excellent, hot showers, freezer, good loos. Like everyone else has said in their reviews, the owners and in particular their two hour animal feeding session that they do every morning with all the kids in tow, set the tone for such a lovely vibe. The children just loved it and got to hold tortoises and guinea pigs, collect chicken eggs, stroke the ferrets, collect blackberries. We hired some rods and had a go at the fishing but were definitely not naturals and lost our hooks in various trees. We were there for the excellent Saturday children's entertainer and party bus, which was brilliantly incongruous. We found that during a weekend stay, there was enough to do in the campsite itself, though if we were there for longer there was lots to do nearby. There was great farm shop at the top of the road. It was a sweet site which we really enjoyed.

Não gostou We had very sloped pitches in the first field so perhaps request a flat one on booking.

Gostou Friendly staff, pretty surroundings, great pool, being serenaded in the morning by the bull. The kids loved the climbing wall. Never had to queue for the usually warm showers.

Não gostou Our pitch was too small for us and sloped in two directions we were way too close to our neighbours who had to drive across the grass in front of our tent to park at theirs. With hindsight, I think you can book different pitch sizes so maybe pay attention when booking, which I didn't realise. I'd also wait for the covid pool booking system to end as we were seldom able to book a convenient time and the pool was lovely. The women's toilets were often filthy, with toilets full to the brim and unflushable. There is an eco rainwater flushing system which just couldn't handle the number of people using the toilets. I like a mop or squeegee to clean the shower out before and after use but there weren't any, so showers were very clogged with hair and mud.

Do gerente: thank you or your review, and I appreciate your honesty, but I am obviously disappointed that we didn't meet your expectations, and that our facilities did not meet our own usually high standards, that our other reviews reflect. We did have a technical issue with our header tank that meant for a short window in the morning, that due to demand, it could not keep up with demand - FYI it something that we have never experienced since the facility was built in 2013 - it was quickly remedied, but of course we will look at this in September and make sure these kind of issues don't happen again, so I can only apologise. Our pitches, as usually mentioned in our reviews, are generous, and as detailed are minimum 10m x 10m . Your pitch 122 - would easily accommodate a tent of 'normal' proportions, but it must be said, too many guests bring a tent that far exceed the pitch sizing guidance given clearly on both pitch up where an XL pitch would be more suitable.

Gostou This was such a lovely site! We had a flat pitch, loads of room, a beautiful view of the yellow rapeseed field, it was peaceful and had clean toilets and hot showers. The kids had the best week of their lives, they said. We usually opt for campsites that are more on the wild camping side, so this site was a departure for us from what we're used to. It was so laid back, quiet and friendly. We just loved it here and ended up staying longer than we'd planned.

Gostou Lovely, small site which was quiet and pretty. Clean facilities with hot showers. The pub was great with delicious Sunday lunch (although we were defeated by the HUGE portion sizes!). Lovely and safe for the kids to play - they loved the gardens with the little house.

Não gostou We didn't at all find the pitches flat, but quite lumpy! This seemed like a minor issue considering how much we loved everything else.

Gostou We originally booked a woodland pitch for our tent but at the owner's suggestion, upgraded to a tipi when I fractured my ankle a few days before our holiday. The tipi itself was gorgeous! So beautifully kitted out with fairy lights, flowers and sheepskins and with super comfy beds. Each pitch has it's own camp kitchen which is fully equipped with a gas cooker, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and a cooler box. We had a covered and outside picnic table, our own bbq and a fire pit surrounded by logs. At night the campsite was lit by solar powered lights and was just so lovely. The kids went feral and we barely saw them as they were off charging around the forest in a big pack with all the other children. At night they went up to the cabin in the woods to watch films in the outdoor cinema. The showers were hot, the toilets were clean, and we loved the farm dogs who came to visit with the John each day. He was always happy to have a big chat and gave us excellent tips on where to visit each day. We just loved everything about this site.

Gostou Great location with good pubs nearby. Lots of space in a pretty field, being able to pitch wherever we liked, friendly manager, the farmer inviting us to feed the lambs their bottles (highlight!), good facilities, warm showers. This campsite ticked all our boxes. We had arguably our best ever camping experience here!

Não gostou Having blazing sunshine on the day we had to decamp and leave! Zero stars for weather management.

Gostou Pretty location, very quiet and peaceful, well stocked shop, delicious freshly baked croissants and pastries in the morning, clean facilities with hot showers.

Não gostou The non-electric tent pitches were very uneven. Everywhere you look is a sign with a rule to be obeyed which, one the one hand, contributes to a clean and organised site but we prefer a more laid back approach. I also thought that charging for ice pack freezing was a bit odd, even though it was a nominal amount. It isn't something we've come across before.

Gostou Our pitch, the views, the millions of sheep, the fat little lamb who liked to squeeze under the gate into our field, the sound of peacocks in the distance, maybe a woodpecker, morning birdsong, evening muntjac, lovely warm shower and clean facilities with lights. Simon helped us move our gear with the quad bike on arrival and departure, fixed our tent pole when we snapped it and helped us get the tent up while mother-in-law, Jan I think, helped move us in. Altogether a very friendly welcome and a very beautiful site.

Não gostou Nothing about the site. But don't do what we did and forget your wellies. This is a working farm and the access from the car park to the pitches is through a field of sheep. Our route from pitch to toilet was also through the sheep, so really you do need some appropriate footwear and not just a pair of sandals!

Gostou We've just spent a lovely bank holiday weekend at Twitey's. The site is beautiful with level camping pitches mown into a sloping field of long yellow grass, each with it's own fire pit - the children loved exploring the little pathways through the field and being ferried around in the wheelbarrows! The flushing toilets were clean but unlit so make sure you have torches and lamps for nighttime visits. I believe there is ordinarily hot water for washing up in the communal kitchen area although it wasn't working during our stay and a kettle was supplied instead. The tap water is pumped from a dam so is potentially not drinkable but there is bottled water on sale in the honesty shop. On the whole, a very relaxed feel to this site and one we'll definitely visit again.

Não gostou Slightly marked down for the shower facilities. There were only two for quite a large number of campers and because there are no lights in the communal barn where the washing up, showering and basin facilities are, you are limited to using the showers in the day time. While were were there only one shower worked so the queue for it was long. Having said that, I'm not sure whether anyone actually mentioned the broken shower to the manager or it may have been fixed. There is a freezer to keep your blocks frozen but it wasn't the best - our blocks came out liquid even after being in there for 24 hours. None of these issues particularly impacted our enjoyment of the site though. Just minor niggles.

We are planning extra showers for next year also. Also we have not put lights in the showers or toilets as we are a 'back to basics' type of site and campers usually have their own torches and lamps.We have put some extra solar lights up to the toilets though. Gostou The impressive views, the beautiful surroundings and gardens, the lovely honesty shop, the cake in the garden, the stroll up through the apple orchard to the kitchen. We even liked the cute composting toilet with it's sweet bunches of lavender. The site felt friendly and safe - we happily left items charging up in the kitchen and our 3 and 1 year old children had the freedom to flit around out of eyesight without us worrying. They loved the sheep and the chickens. We had amazing, sunny weather and a super bright blue moon while we were there.

Não gostou Our last night was soured by the arrival of a youth group of about 15 boys but the campsite owners have followed up with an email apologising about the disruption and noise and have said it was an error of judgement to accept their booking. They have offered us a free night in the future to make it up to us and we'll definitely take them up on it. There are only two toilets and two showers so a full campsite is a big strain on the facilities, but up until the group's arrival we found sharing the facilities very manageable.
