Càmping Valldaro

Càmping Valldaro is in a super setting: on the coast, close to shops, attractions and nightlife, and with easy access to local transport links. It's also close to Castell-Platja d'Aro, the popular Costa Brava place made up of the old medieval village of Castell d'Aro and the coastal town and two-kilometre beach of Platja d'Aro. The main beach at Platja d'Aro connects to several smaller ones via the Camí de Ronda, the old pathway built among the Costa Brava coast in the nineteenth century as a (misguided) attempt to thwart the local smugglers. It's used these days as a network of public paths to connect several tourist towns along the coast, so find it and potter if you'd like to try some traditional Spanish strolling. One of the more swish parts of the Costa Brava is at nearby S'Agaró, walkable from Castell-Platja d'Aro just along the coast and a place so favoured by dramatic types that it was nicknamed Hollywood by the Sea. It's still a posh place these days, so mosey along and have a nose at its villas in suitably envious manner.
