Beach buffs of the world, don your swimming kit and prepare for some serious lounging. You could barely be any closer to the beach than at Strandpark Vlugtenburg, a family site that’s separated from the North Sea only by a great swathe of sandy beach and dunes. Look north from this spot on the outskirts of the small town of 's Gravenzande and you’ll see the beach stretching away in front of you for several kilometres. Just a 10-minute drive to the south is the port of Hook of Holland, making this a mighty handy first stopping point if you’ve just arrived on the ferry from Harwich. With The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam all around half an hour’s drive away, it’s also a good area to park yourself for several days to combine a bit of city culture with some beach action. When they’re not occupied with splashing in the sea, kids can spend time at the playground, play games with friends on the panna football field or join in with the various activities organised for them on site in high season. There’s also an indoor games room, and board games can be borrowed from reception. Very conveniently, the site also has its own café with sweet and savoury options, overlooking the dunes and the playground. Two restaurants are a couple of minutes’ walk away, on the beach.

Gostou Tbh we thought that a site very close to the Harwich Ferry Port might be a bit of a 'needs must' kind of place, but it isn't.
Yes it's perfect for am overmight for both arrival and departure, which we used it for, but it's a a very nice, busy, beach family resort

Very friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely restaurant. You can also order breakfast and it'll be delivered to your pitch.

Good toilets
For those like me who search for more 'private' facilities whem booking, there's' a great little four sided 'pod' each cubicle with wc, shower, heater, power point...and lots of space.

For those coming by ferry it's going to be mainly a stopover place, but it is a 'proper' friendly Dutch holiday park right on the beach, and 5 mins from a lovely little village with famtastic cafés, so if you need a few nights you'll not be disappointed.

Gostou Unser Urlaub im Strandpark Vlugtenburg war einfach traumhaft. Die Anlage war sauber, gepflegt und wirklich ordentlich – man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt. Die Nähe zum Strand, die ruhige Atmosphäre und die schöne Umgebung haben den Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Es hat einfach alles gestimmt, und wir konnten richtig gut abschalten. Besonders schön war auch, dass wir uns so willkommen gefühlt haben – ein Ort, an den man gern zurückkehrt.

Não gostou Wenn wir überhaupt etwas anmerken müssten, dann wäre es das Fehlen eines Getränkeautomaten. Gerade abends oder bei kleineren Spaziergängen hätte es schön sein können, spontan etwas kaufen zu können. Das ist allerdings Jammern auf hohem Niveau, denn ansonsten war wirklich alles top.

Very unlikely to stay there again assuming the campsite remains open.

Não gostou Site is like a building site with work starting just after 7am. Luxury statics being installed.
There appeared to be no staff on duty after 5pm so no security personnel visible.

Wir hatten 5 Tage einen schönen Aufenthalt. Kommen bald wieder. Danke

Gostou Super freundliches Personal. Obwohl wir keine Kinder haben können wir den Spiel- und Wasserplatz für Kinder sehr zu empfehlen. Zelt-/Wohnmobil Platz ist weit genug weg, sodass man die Ruhe genießen kann. Strom (mit Eurostecker) und Duschen, WLAN inklusive (keine extra Kosten). Ein- und Ausfahrt mit Kennzeichen Erkennung funktionierte einwandfrei. Elektro Fahrräder top. Nah am Strand/Meer.

Não gostou Noch eine Baustelle für neue Häuser, danach 5*.

Gostou We have been to Strandpark a few times now, you really need cycles to get around, even the beach is a slog walking.
That said, facilities are always clean with a mh service point.
Great new children's water play boat for toddlers with water fountains etc.
Bar / restaurant at the beach entrance and 3 bars on the beach.
About a 10 minute cycle ride to the Hook of Holland for shops and bars. About 1 hour to the Hague and Scheveningen.

A place to come back to.

Gostou Big and flat place to park the motorhome on and easy to access water and electricity. We arrived after reception had closed but that was no problem. A friendly lady called us and also sent a mail with information on late arrival. We tried to book for our return trip but unfortunately it was fully booked.

Gostou Im Großen und Ganzem ruhiger Platz, alles vorhanden was man braucht. Der Zeltplatz war gepflegt und groß. Sanitätanlagen sauber und genug Kabinen vorhanden sodass man nie warten musste. Freuen uns darauf nächstes Jahr erneut unseren Urlaub dort verbringen zu können.

Atrações locais

The beach is a major attraction here; aside from all your usual sea- and sand-based fun, you can also sign up for a range of activities including horse riding, land yachting, kitesurfing and paddleboarding, or try your luck with a fishing rod. A good way to get around and see some of the area’s beaches and other natural areas is to make like a local and get on your bike. Site staff can suggest routes, including cycling through the dunes to Kijkduin, heading to the Staelduinse Forest or taking the ferry to Maasvlakte to go seal spotting. For a kid-friendly day out, it’s half an hour’s drive to Rotterdam Zoo, where you can see lions, polar bears and monkeys among others. Aquatic animal life is on display at Sea Life Scheveningen, a 40-minute drive from the site. Also worth a day trip is the town of Delft, half an hour away, to shop for the famed blue and white porcelain, visit the old and new churches and see the Vermeer Centre, where the artist lived.
