Adicione os dados da sua empresaWake up to a wonderful backdrop of the peaks of the Pyrenees – Haute Ariège glamping site Complexe des Oustalous is a scenic stop to hunker down in the town of Les Cabannes, a pretty place between the Ariège and Aston rivers.
Cool and contemporary accommodation is in wooden chalets, sleeping up to four people in two bedrooms (please note that bed linen is not provided), stylish in design and with floor-to-ceiling windows – all the better to appreciate those stunning views. Each lodge has a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker and dishwasher, and there’s a flat-screen TV in the comfy living area for quiet nights in.
Stay in summer for the hiking and cycling, or come in winter to ski downhill or try your hand at Nordic skiing on the Plateau de Beille. Whatever time of year you arrive, there’s lots going on in Les Cabannes, with a whole slew of restaurants, takeaways and pizzerias as well as grocery stores. There’s a station there too, with connections to Toulouse for those travelling on public transport.
The heated outdoor pool is open from May to the end of September, and the Oustalous reception team are on hand all year round to offer up advice on the best local walks, snow conditions in winter, and days out in the Pyrenees.

In summer, get set for watery adventures on the Ariège River, paddle across Lake Bouan at the foot of the immense cliffs at Quié de Sinsat (10 minutes’ drive), which is also a hub for rock climbing, or learn to waterski at Base Nautique Téléski (20 minutes). The Plateau de Beille (25 minutes) is a major centre for hikes of all levels from family to expert, and also has mountain biking trails. You can rent cycles and safety equipment in Les Cabannes.
In winter the area is given over the snow sports, with short and easy slopes around the Plateau de Beille for novices to find their ski legs. It’s also a centre for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing, and if you need to take the weight off your knees, you can always explore the area from the comfort of a dog sled.
After a change of pace? Take the little train up to the mouth of Lombrives Cave (10 minutes) to discover its subterranean caverns and lakeside chambers.
