Like to spend your time in the countryside without the bother of noise or parties? Settle in at Bryndu Caravan and Camping, family-friendly site where peace and quiet are the two top priorities. Set on a traditional working farm less than five minutes’ drive away from the small Powys village of Llyswen, this mid Wales setting is only 10 minutes' drive away from the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. It's splendid for outdoorsy breaks: two long-distance walking paths are within 20 minutes of base, and hiking, biking and riding trails through the Beacons are close to hand. There’s fishing on the Wye too where it passes through Llyswen, and canoeing and kayaking along the Wye from the nearby village of Glasbury. That’s a whole lot of activity, so retreat to the site for a little reward… massages are available on site. Evenings can be seen to with a well-timed stay: the site is within easy reach of the Royal Welsh Show, Brecon and Hay-on-Wye, leaving town types, book nerds and anyone moved by agriculture well entertained. As a peaceful site, music isn't allowed and quiet hours are in force after 10pm. There are also dog restrictions on site.

Gostou This is honestly one of the best sites we have ever visited. It was easy to get to with a friendly welcome when we checked in. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery, with views of the nearby mountains. This site is exceptionally well maintained - the pitches were level, neat and the flowers around the place brought so much joy. You can tell that a lot of love and care gets put into this campsite.
The facilities were some of cleanest we have experienced. We travelled with our 5 month old baby and loved that there were family friendly changing/ showers and a baby bath. They even had spare nappies which is just as well as we realised we had forgotten our clean one when we got in there. The showers were a perfect temperature.
At reception you can even enjoy a well made coffee and grab an icecream. There were books and games to borrow as well as a lovely play park for children. Every detail had been thought of!
We loved it so much. It is a shame we only stayed one night. We will definitely be back!

Gostou Toilet block was immaculate at all times.
Little shop on site was a bonus.
Staff on site was super friendly and welcoming.
Pitches were a great size.
Lovely little site which was maintained to a high standard.

Gostou The peace and quiet, the site and facilities were stunning and immaculately kept. Owners were absolutely lovely and so friendly. The little shop was an extra touch.

Gostou The friendliness of the owners, the relaxed feel of the site, the quiet rules and cleanliness of the facilities.
Husband and wife team were very approachable and their shop was reasonably priced and well stocked with local produce.

Gostou Such a wonderful campsite. Lovely amount of space between pitches. The owners were helpful and friendly as was everyone else staying on the site. The facilities were impeccable, very functional, clean warm! We would definitely stay here again!

Atrações locais

Active types who haven’t yet got their fill of adventure should stick around the Brecon Beacons (10 minutes’ drive) a little longer. Once hikes, bikes and rides are truly exhausted, there’s still climbing, caving, canoeing and sailing to try out, all the while keeping eyes glued to the skies (and the ground) for lapwings, red kites and reed warblers. To take in all the spectacular views of the Beacons and the rest of the Mid Wales countryside, make a pitstop in the small market town of Talgarth (10 minutes) on the edge of the national park. This is a starting point for walks up the highest of the Black Mountains, Waun Fach and for hang gliding trips over the park and mountain range. The amphibious should swim along to Llangorse Lake (20 minutes) – it's the largest natural lake in southern Wales, and there’s a whole lot here to keep visitors busy, from kayaking and canoeing, to paddleboarding and windsurfing, to sailing and catch-and-release fishing. Prefer to keep things peaceful? Opt for some quiet time exploring the past with a stop at the National Trust’s Cwmmau Farmhouse (check opening days before visiting) half an hour away, or trek to the other side of the Brecon Beacons for the Brecon Mountain Railway, Blaenavon Ironworks and the Big Pit National Coal Museum.
