Get to Glangwdi Glamping for bell tent breaks at a fantastic family-run site in a first-rate spot for bumbling around the Brecon Beacons National Park. Days of hiking, alpaca walking, mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing, gorge walking – and pretty much any other activity you're up for in this part of Powys – are a doddle to organise while on a holiday here. Taking on pursuits of a more leisurely sort is also an option at this scenic site, either by simply sitting down and admiring the views out across south Wales’ most sizeable mountain range or by wandering over to meet the pygmy goats, chickens and ducks at the farm. Barbecues with a backdrop of the Brecon Beacons are of course a brilliant way to arrange dinner on site (firepits are available and there’s wood to buy). But if you're not in the mood to cook, just set yourself down at the on-site artisan eatery, The Greedy Goat. The eatery can prepare you pizzas from dough made fresh on site, as well as a selection of desserts such as ice cream, ice cream milkshakes and waffle sticks with a variety of toppings. Tea and coffee are also up for grabs. There are also pubs, coffee shops or restaurants up the road in Brecon (five minutes’ drive). Work up an appetite with a walk around the Brecon Beacons, whether a gentle hike in the woods or while getting stuck into scaling Pen-y-Fan (20 minutes), the area’s highest peak.

Welsh Poppy tenda em forma de sino

Gostou Absolutely loved staying here with my partner and 2 kids (aged 6 and 4). It was clean and everything we ready for us to settle in. The pizzas are amazing and the waffles for pudding were just as good. The goats were brilliant for the kids. The owners were really friendly and approachable and were great with the kids when showing them the animals.

I really cannot recommend it enoufh and I will be returning here as soon as possible.

Gostou Our family loved every minute of our stay, showers and toilets exceptionally clean. Owners are very friendly and helpful and the pizza on site is the best we’ve ever had! Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Gostou Everything, the hosts were so accommodating, friendly & helpful. Everything was thought of. Tents were clean & tidy even had hot water bottles 👍fully equipped outdoor kitchen, fire pit and hot tub. Even electric sockets in a locker. The kids loved feeding the goats and the pizza was delicious to top off the waffles were even better.

Gostou Superb facilities and everything is so well thought out which allows families to have an excellent experience.
Excellent artisan food on site in a beautiful setting.
The children loved petting the goats! The animals on site made it extra special for my young children.
Fantastic hosts and we were well looked after from beginning to end by Jo. A perfect get away, and we can’t wait to come back.

Horse-riding sorts might like to saddle up at the nearby stables (10 minutes' drive), while mountain bikers can satiate their need for speed on the top trails at BikePark Wales (half an hour). And the outdoorsy antics don't end there… Brecon is something of a hub for such things with activity centres around town for rafting, canoeing, high ropes courses and gorge scrambling adventures. All sound too exhausting? Take a more leisurely ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway (half an hour) before heading home via the Penderyn whisky distillery (30 minutes) and sampling some locally made tipples. Break out of the Beacons for trips to some of the area's other attractions: Llandovery Castle is half an hour away, as is the literary town of Hay-on-Wye, a settlement lined with bookshops. A little further north, but well worth a trip are the lakes of the Elan Valley and the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhayader; both are around 50 minutes drive.
