A five-acre site set between the pretty Kent villages of Headcorn and Smarden, Go Glamp is a friendly, family-run sort of place that welcomes kids and dogs. It has a chilled vibe so relaxation is never going to be a problem – and your privacy is pretty much ensured, thanks to there being plenty of space around the camping fields. Communal facilities include a kitchen area for food prep and washing up, and refrigerators to keep your food (and drink, very important) chilled. Sparkling-clean toilets and spacious warm showers are found adjacent to the car park. Mobile phone charging points are available, but please warn any teens that internet access is limited. Barbecues and firepits are available for hire, and buckets of wood can be bought for a small charge. Pick up essentials from the convenience stores in Headcorn (five minutes’ drive), or you can ditch the car and walk to the pubs in Smarden (half an hour) if grilling up supper isn’t on the agenda. A trainline runs along the back of the site, bound to London and back, where guests can spy on the occasional Pullman and steam trains (trains run twice per hour and not between midnight and 6am). Guests can also often spot light aircraft displays, hot air balloons and parachutists and wing-walkers from the nearby aerodrome. For your extra safety, the glampsite is secured with automatically closing electric gates; an entry code will be given to you on arrival. If you have any queries or problems, do ask the owners, who live on-site.

Frogdale cabine

Gostou What didn’t we like. Can not recommend this place enough. We stayed a week and loved every second. The hosts are beyond friendly! The cabin we stayed in was private and beautiful with every detail inside to perfection!
There was a communal area to use kettle microwave and washing up. A fridge to share and beautifully decorated seating area undercover where we could play games and eat when it got dark.
You can hear the big cat sanctuary from where we was staying which we loved and watch the plains and sky divers all day.
We will 100% be staying again wether it will be in a cabin, Shepard's hut or even camping

Frogdale cabine

Gostou We stayed in the cabin for one night and had a wonderful experience. The cabin was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The shared bathroom and toilet facilities were clean and convenient, and there was also a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed for cooking. We also really enjoyed having a barbecue outside.

The bed in the cabin was very comfortable, and the outdoor space was lovely. The whole place was peaceful and relaxing, which made it perfect for a little getaway.

The staff were incredibly kind, friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a really great time and would definitely recommend Go Glamp. We would happily stay here again!

Really well kept Campsite - Clean Facilities, Large glamping Bell Tents and a lovely cozy seating area with Coffee in the mornings!

Close enough to the Big Cat sanctuary to hear Lions roaring at night.

Great Hosts that made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay!

I wished we could've stayed longer.

Gostou Great pitches around the edge of a large field, not cramped at all. Plenty of space for everyone. Toilets and showers are good, well maintained and clean. Owners are great too, always available and checking with everyone daily.

Lions roaring at dusk and dawn is wonderful, not loud at all.

Não gostou Not a dislike, but be aware that one side of the field is adjacent to the railway, and only 5metres away, so the two trains an hour can be disruptive.

Also, no way of walking anywhere off site, have to drive. It’s be useful to have
Public footpaths.

Gostou Alan was friendly and greeted me when I arrived. The site is peaceful and an enclosed area for dogs. The shepherds hut was cosy, clean and comfortable. I will definitely be returning.

If you want to get active on your glamping break, the whole family can have a runaround on treetop ropes at Go Ape Bedgebury, or go dinghy sailing and climb the inflatable courses at Bewel Water (both half an hour’s drive). Slow things down with nature rambles around the arboretum at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest (35 minutes). Plenty to do with animals as the focus too: see silverback gorillas, big cats and African elephants in semi-wild enclosures at Howletts Wildlife Park (50 minutes), or take a jeep safari at Port Lympne Safari Park (35 minutes) to spy on rhinos and stately giraffes. If you have younger kids in tow, let them have a cuddle with the friendly inmates at Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats (20 minutes). Canterbury Cathedral (50 minutes) may be calling to history lovers, who can visit the scene of Thomas Beckett’s murder in 1170, before having an amble around the city centre’s half-timbered streets to the porcelain collections in ornate Beaney House of Art and Knowledge. The medieval cathedral and Norman-era castle in Rochester (40 minutes) are both open to tour, or you can do a spot of window shopping on the historic high street.
