Decisions can be tricky sometimes. Do you go for a holiday near the bright lights of the city… or choose to get away from it all and chill in the countryside? Do both, sensible sorts will say – you’re on holiday, after all. So amble your way over to Stanley Villa Farm Fishing and Camping, to loll in a cosy camping pod and yet be only 15 minutes’ drive from the busy centre of Blackpool; it’ll be an illuminating decision. The pods at this glamping site are in Lancashire’s rural Fylde area. You can overlook the lake with a glass of wine and a barbecue while the sun goes down, or sit dreamily all day with rod in hand: the lake has carp to land, and is surrounded by wildlife and native trees. All very serene and peaceful, but still a quick hop from Blackpool’s beaches and attractions. Stanley Villa pods are fully insulated, come with two beds and mattresses and have a battery-powered lantern. Power sockets to keep everything charged are in the Lakeside Lodge, where there’s also a kitchen and common room, plus plenty of up-to-date sparkling clean showers and toilets and three wetrooms. A café is nearby, and a traditional pub with large beer garden is within walking distance.

Gostou Very friendly staff, Clean welcoming, Family friendly, gets kids out and playing rather than on screens didnt fish but looked a great site for that too.

Gostou We have stayed here numerous times throughout the years and it is always something we really enjoy. Kids are plenty of space to safely roam about and the onsite facilties are always kept clean and tidy. Hot tub pods are great and the ability to get a nice for pit going makes it a lovely family trip. We will be back again in the summer ☀️

Gostou Got there with fire wood and hot tubs wood all set at the ready. pod was absolutely amazing the hot tub I couldn’t believe how fast they warmed up! Amazing comfort and cant wait to get back, are phones died so no alarms went off we slept in and they was so lovely and let us have a lie in no extra charge! Well worth the price and anything you needed they was there to help! Very clean and tidy couldn’t ask for anything more! Can’t wait to be back in February !!

Gostou Everything about this place! Well set out between pods and bell tents. Spacious communal lofge with lots of things for the kids and adults inside. We were in the bell tent with the hot tub and it was lovely!

Really spacious inside and well set out with a double bed and double futon. Gorgeous little log burner and really nice touches inside [music speaker, bedside tables and ornaments]. Hot tub fantastic and the kids loved it!

On site the kids got to feed the animals with alex who was very informative and great with the kids. Ours loved it!

Alex was on hand most of the evening and before shutting the shop came to double check no one needed anything prior to closing.

Sunday morning there was a kids creative activity on in the lodge, our two really enjoyed this and the lady who ran it was fantastic.
Breakfast barms seemed a huge hit and were deffo a hit with all of us.

Gostou Only stayed overnight so can’t comment much on facilities, as we only slept there.

Não gostou Hut was like a sauna due to hot weather which is obviously nobody’s fault but windows didn’t open, blinds didn’t fit windows , and light wasn’t working . Had to use our Torch lights.

The area around Stanley Villa Farm has plenty to do for those who like the contemplative life, with heritage walks and bike rides around the coast, horse riding and kayaking, traditional country pubs to sample and several top golf clubs in Preston and the surrounding area. For a less contemplative day or three out, Blackpool is bursting with things to do for podders of all ages: the most well-known attractions here are probably the beach and the Pleasure Beach theme park, with the Blackpool Illuminations lighting up the sky each year from late August/early September. Once you’ve got the kids off the rides, take them along to gawk at the sharks and seahorses at the Sea Life Centre, splash down the slides at the Sandcastle Waterpark and take a wallaby walkabout at Blackpool Zoo; the famous Madame Tussauds on the Promenade should also be a hit. Preston is also well worth a visit for a day trip for five museums, the Beacon Fell Country Park and go-karting at the docks; cruise along on a canal trip or go to the Cheeky Monkeys or Rascals play centres for a family day out. A bit further afield, the county of Lancashire has the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, historic houses, theme parks and adventure parks all to explore, as well as the university city of Lancaster and the seafront at Morecambe Bay.
