Gostou Very nice lady at the campsite.

Não gostou The place is right next to a railway line and a motorway it is not too noisy but keep it in mind when booking.

Gostou lovely relaxing feeling from the site. The host was wonderful: one of my favourite parts was Monty the dog 😁

Gostou The lady there was very welcoming and chatty making sure we was ok everyday, we stayed Friday to Sunday. We was with our children and dog the lady asked if it was ok for her to let her dog of at night for a wonder as he is doesn’t get out of the garden through the day we said it was ok with us he came to see us on the Saturday morning and gave the kids kisses and wanted to play with our dog he’s only 2 the lady said so he was very excited and playful 🐶🐾 We stayed on the front bit in our tent next to the garden and the apple tree with other caravans a motor home and another tent. 2 of them had kids so they got to play together with ours on the grass and had great time. It is Only small on the front bit but nice and peaceful enjoying the rest and we all had enough space on our pitches. We couldn’t stay for longer than 1-2 nights as there isn’t any shower facilities but will definitely be back again in the future for night or 2. There was a little club about a 10 min walk away down the lanes and over the tracks with a play area for the kids if you wanted a walk out dogs were aloud too. Overall we had a lovely time Thank you 😊

Não gostou Not a dislike from us because we didn’t need to stay round there but if we did end up round there then it would have been a massive dislike…
When we first got there we missed the first little bit at the front and went straight round to the back where the caravans are stored and there was only us round there at that point and we didn’t feel very comfortable as some of the caravans are run down with broken down cars next to them.

Luckily the lady come round as we had drove straight past her on the way in and said we could stay there or round on the front bit, she took me back round and showed me and we was more than happy then but wouldn’t have been happy had there hadn’t been any room for us on the front, we’d have had to stay round the back looking over the caravans that aren’t being looked after. Obviously not the lady’s fault but I think the owners of them could do with being asked to come and keep them tidy as it does let that side of the camp down massively.

Do gerente: I really thank you for a detailed review - It gives a wonderful overview of the campsite.

You'll be pleased to know (possibly) that the site manager is actioning your words and is contacting those whom have stored and neglected their caravans.

I should add to the list that arrivals should pull up on the front of the site as opposed to going around the back.

The site is normally more lush, though the drought naturally has knocked back the grass and the fruit in the orchard.

Gostou We saw some deer close to the campsite. I cant think of anything else to be honest

Não gostou This was more of a caravan storage site than a campsite. The campsite dog was uncontrolled and left to wander the site freely after 8pm. This led to it visiting our dog and jumping on our children. Loud background noise from the motorway which was very close. During our stay a teenager on the site walked past our van with an air-rifle and began to shoot birds on the campsite within 10 metres of our children playing. When we complained about this to the site owner they didn't agree that this was a problem and suggested it was our fault because we weren't used to having guns around us. We then packed up and left because we felt unsafe.

We are terribly sorry that you felt unsafe.

The incident happened as a father and son known to Margaret often rock up and shoot flying vermin around the site. They’ve had a long standing agreement to do so, however, normally when there is no one else around. As you can imagine it is quite often.

As you would be aware once the matter was raised then they packed up and left. They were at fault as they didn’t check to see that it was still ok to shoot.

As you can see on Google maps, there are a number of stored caravans which accounts for most of the ability to run the campsite. Many other campers have been ok with that. Parking in the orchard should be able to face away from all storage and look out to the fields and spot wildlife.

Monty is the farm dog. He’s a lovely lad and acts as security for the farm. If he was bothering you then Margaret would have brought him back to the house.
