Seaside days, scenic country walks… and a splendid dose of luxury – it’s all here at Old Octon Farm Lodges, a small East Yorkshire glamping site that’s part of a working farm in the village of Octon, 20 minutes from the coast at Bridlington and Filey. The surroundings here are all pretty pastures and open skies, so it’s just the location for a relaxing time spent soaking up the fresh air, sunset watching and stargazing. There are several pubs and restaurants in local villages, with more places to eat in Driffield (15 minutes’ drive), which also has a supermarket for supplies to take back to base. Whatever you source in the shops can go into meals prepped inside or outside your lodge – each of the smartly kitted-out lodges has a kitchenette (with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery provided) and a dining area, plus a barbecue area outside for alfresco eating. The table and chairs on the deck at the front of the lodge are in just the right spot for breakfast in the morning sun too… Everything here has been designed with a luxurious experience in mind – from the rainfall shower in the bathroom to the sparkling wine and chocolates provided as welcome gifts. Each lodge also has a Freesat TV and wifi, plus central heating, double glazing and insulation to keep everything cosy. These are family-friendly lodges, although it's worth noting that there are limited entertainment facilities for children, and dogs are also welcome as long as they are added to your booking in advance and not left in your lodge on their own at any time.

Gostou Comfortable, had everything that was needed.. great location, nice shower and water was lovely and warm!
We may have been a bit of a pain coming and going late at night (birthday party) but it was t a problem.. made a new friend with the owners collie :)

Gostou All I can say is WOW, I've never understood home away from home until I stayed here. Its perfect, peaceful and cosy. We all loved it. We even got to pet a few sheep as they walked past the fence.

Rivers chalé

Gostou We really enjoyed it stay at Rivers Lodge. The lodge had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Lots of lovely details too which was great! My children and I loved watching the sheep. Useful information about the surrounding area was really handy. Ideal base for exploring the local beaches and towns. Looking to book again soon!

Shepherd's View chalé (proibido para pets)

Gostou We had a relaxing two night stay in Shepherd's View Lodge. The location in beautiful and we loved watching the sheep wandering about the fields.

The lodge was spotlessly clean, with comfortable bed and sofa bed, and had everything we needed, including tea, coffee, milk and chocolates!

Mandy and Dave are welcoming, friendly hosts and we would definitely stay again when we come back to the area. Would highly recommend (and will be to friends and family)!

Shepherd's View chalé (proibido para pets)

Gostou Great place, highly recommend. The farm is peaceful, the views are lovely and watching the sheep in the morning was a lovely way to start the day! The lodge was so good, it was spacious, spotlessly clean and had lots within in, including an oven, 2 ring hob, a wardrobe and a welcome hamper which was greatly appreciated!

The location for us was ideal with going to various different places during our stay.

Thank you to Mandy and Dave for giving time to our daughter chatting, answering her questions, letting her feed some sheep and allowing her to play with the dogs!

We have already recommended the lodges and plan to come back again.

Gostou Very peaceful site, beautiful lodges with everything you need. Clean and tidy. We loved seeing the sheep of a morning walking through the fields opposite the lodges.

Here in the Yorkshire Wolds there’s plenty of lovely scenery to explore, whether you head out on foot, get on your bike, or take a seat on the Yorkshire Wolds Railway (15 minutes' drive). You may also like to have a stroll around a couple of local stately homes at Sledmere House (10 minutes), which has a farm park and adventure playground, or Burton Agnes Hall (15 minutes), known for its art collection and craft shops. And of course you’ll want to get over to the coast as well – perhaps for days on the beach in Filey or Bridlington (both 20 minutes), a bit of birdwatching at RSPB Bempton Cliffs (25 minutes) or a trip to the gorgeous Robin Hood’s Bay (55 minutes). The beach and open-air theatre make Scarborough (half an hour) worth a visit too. If you’ve got kids to entertain, a tour of Bondville Model Village (20 minutes) should be on the schedule. If, however, it’s an adults-only trip, might you perhaps be interested in a tour and tasting at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery (15 minutes)?
