Set off for a stay at School Farm Holidays and you’ll be able to take in some rather stunning views from some rather comfortable and stylish outdoor accommodation. This small family-run site between Shrewsbury and Telford is up at the top end of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, and it makes a lovely place for a break with your partner, your family or a small group of friends. Accommodation here is in characterfully designed glamping units that have been well thought out for comfort and convenience – each one has full central heating, a luxury bathroom with unlimited hot water, and a well-equipped kitchen (with fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave and all the crockery, cutlery and pans you’ll need to rustle up a few meals). Bed linen and towels are provided, and there’s good wifi to help you keep in touch with the outside world. You’ll catch glimpses of the views from inside your accommodation, but you’ll no doubt want to spend some time out in the open too – and that’s been made similarly comfortable as each unit has been allocated its own private outdoor space with a firepit/barbecue, pergola and outdoor eating area. That’s not to say that you have to see the scenery from a static position – you can easily take a stroll around the working farm, which has acres of open fields, orchards and a brook to explore and sheep and pygmy goats to meet. There are some great walks to be had nearby too, either in the immediate area around the farm or further afield at top spots like Carding Mill Valley and the Wrekin (which you can spot from the farm).

Gostou Loved this site. Such a lovely place to unwind. Owners were friendly and accommodating, communication was brilliant.

Hedgehog pod was fully equipped, was comfortable, had a lovely firepit and hot tub.

Nothing quite like sitting under the stars in a hot tub by the fire.

Had a lovely time. We will be back.

Gostou We recently stayed in the Hedgehog Camping Pod and had a wonderful experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful, providing a peaceful and relaxing escape. The pod itself was amazing, incredibly well-equipped with everything we needed, and thoughtfully decorated, making it both cosy and very pretty. Helen and Jamie were fantastic hosts, friendly, welcoming, and always available for a chat or to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality really added to our stay and made us feel at home. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to return in the future.

Não gostou The only small suggestion for improvement would be to make the signage a little more prominent around the parking area, as it would make finding the pod even easier for first-time visitors.

Gostou Beautiful lodge and views. The photos don’t do it justice. Clean and well equipped with everything you need. Great for kids of all ages with play equipment, games room, football goal and hot tub all on your doorstep. Lots of places nearby to visit. Would definitely recommend.

Gostou Great hosts, stunning views and area and perfect accommodation for a small family! The kids loved the play area, indoor games room and the added bonus of donkeys and sheep!
The accommodation itself was clean and had everything you needed. The beds were comfy and the shower was powerful which was a nice surprise.

Não gostou Nothing to dislike!
Only slight downside was the hot tub needed some maintenance; it kept beeping for a new filter which we then swapped for a used/cleaner one on our last night.

Gostou We really enjoyed our stay in Rabbit Pod. It was very comfortable, spacious (for a pod!) and well equipped. The children loved the hot tub (on a cool setting as it was very hot weather!). They also made use of the playground and games room which would also be great if rainy weather. Great views and lots to do in the area. We'd love to return!

Gostou Beautiful lodge, location and host! We loved our 2 night stay here, the lodge was modern, cosy and beautiful, would love to visit again! Feeding the donkeys, seeing the sheep, having access to the slide and football goals was perfect for keeping our toddler entertained 😊

Atrações locais

This area is packed with lovely scenery, which you can spot from all sorts of scenic trails through the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. Places like Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (half an hour’s drive) are the most well known spots but you should be able to find plenty of equally scenic and quieter paths around the area too. There’s also lots of interesting history around to discover too – from the birthplace of the modern Olympics at Much Wenlock (10 minutes) to the birthplace of Charles Darwin in Shrewsbury (25 minutes). You can also easily have a full day out at Ironbridge (15 minutes), which is a World Heritage Site full of museums and attractions. National Trust properties are plentiful in this pretty area too, whether you stay on the English side of the border for trips to Benthall Hall and Attingham Park (both 15 minutes) or cross over into Wales to check out Powis Castle (50 minutes).
