Gostou Nothing!!

Não gostou Reception was unfriendly, shop was empty, toilet block was only cleaned once. The owner said it was adults only but I clearly booked 2 adults 1 child (aged 17) and it did not state adults only when I booked!! The whole site was noisy.

Não gostou We couldn't stay as it is now adults only, last time we visited children were welcome, their website wasn't working so they suggested we book via pitchup and we missed the small print that said this.

Gostou The location for Blenheim palace and visiting Oxford was good. The pitch was pleasant and spacious. There were plenty of the usual facilities available for camping for the number of people including toilets, showers, washing up sinks and very hot water. They were clean enough. Dogs were very well catered for with walks including a large secure field to run off lead. It was quiet and our fellow campers were friendly and respectful. We arrived after reception was closed but were emailed with instructions where to find our pitch. The “building site” is tidy and wasn’t noisy. It looks like the site has a lot of potential and is undergoing a transition period. We didn’t miss the closed down cafe, bar and shop while this is going on. There’s an “open all hours” co-op in the village.

Não gostou I wish there was still a pub open within easy walking distance. Both seem to have closed over the past couple of years. There was a whiff of drains in certain places but I expect there will be some upgrading and maintenance soon for that.

Gostou Great pitches! Quiet, well organised site. Clear instructions on how to get there and what to do when setting up.

Fishing lake is a great feature.

Gostou Pitch was a good size with electric hookup. Water not far away.
Beautiful tree lined drive and nice welcome on arrival.

Não gostou A lot of building work going on so constant noise until 6.00pm which was disturbing. After 6.00pm lovely and peaceful evening with wildlife. I imagine that once the building work finishes this will be a lovely peaceful site in the future.

Gostou Clean toilet block. Helpful reception staff although construction staff were not.

Não gostou We were shocked when we arrived at the changes to what used to be a beautiful and peaceful site. It is now basically a pretty big building site all over what were the biggest fields with a few remaining pitches for tourers. Noisy building work started before 7am on some days we were there and carried on until 6pm every day with no let up. Construction vehicles are regularly coming and going. The site bears no resemblance to what is advertised on the Internet(and what was there last year), the shop, cafe, one of the toilet blocks and the main access to the river are all gone. We returned to this site to get some respite from living near HS2 construction and found ourselves right back in the same relentless disturbance. It is no longer a great place to stay.
