Midshires Way Campsite and Alpaca Farm

Gostou Peaceful site with around 9 hard standing pitches, a few grass pitches, and 5 well equipped pods. Facilities were excellent, 2 bathroom, washer/dryer, fridge and books for sharing.

Scenery was stunning with the Nottingham power station on the horizon. Being in the flight path for East Mids Airport was an added bonus, with a handful of planes roaring above us.

East Leake was a great village for shopping, pubs and food.

Definitely be returning.

Gostou Site , owners , lovely walks , nice walk in to the village.

Não gostou Would like to see a few more toilets as if someone in both showers you are waiting a while for the showers.
The noise from neighbours till gone one in the morning.

Gostou Bathrooms were lovely and clean. Only two toilet/showers but we never had to wait.
Alpacas, obviously.
Warm welcome on arrival.
Boardgames available for those evenings in.
20-25min walk into the centre of East Leake.
Pitches are spacious and tidy.

Não gostou Unfortunately it is in the flight path so the peace is interrupted during the day if you're planning on just staying at the site.

Gostou Really clean site, loved the alpacas. Very quiet (other than unavoidable noise from planes that didn’t bother us at all). Great space for dogs to exercise! Nice large pitches with water and electric.

Não gostou Would prefer the toilets to be separate to showers as only two. It was very quiet so not an issue this time, but could see it being more of an issue if the site was busier.

Gostou Fantastic number of limited pitches that are all fully serviced and are of a good size.
Nice and clean facilities to wash and shower etc.
Nice to wander round and see the horses and alpacas.

Não gostou Because it’s on the flight path of EMA, it’s very noisy at night to sleep.

Gostou lovely big pitches and the site was very clean. Easy to find and some great pubs near by for food

Gostou Super quiet site with horses and alpaca’s
Nice walks and close to town with all the usual shops, pubs and takeaways. It is close to East Midlands Airport but the noise from passing planes is very low and didn’t bother us at all.
Very pleasant site team made us feel very welcome.
Yes we will be coming back if possible

Não gostou If you want to to use an awning you will need rock pegs and a large hammer. as the hard standing bases appear to have quite rocky foundations.

Gostou Alpacas

Não gostou Everything else, only 2 unisex showers with toilets. Also the way we were spoken to on arrival was not very welcoming. He asked us if we were smuggling a dog in the van and he wasn't even joking. He then accused us of reversing into his wooden post because it was crooked, my partner has a high level driving licence and I was guiding him. We had paid to stay for the week but left the next day and found a much better campsite with a warm and friendly welcome.
Also must be on the flight path for an airport because the noise of aircraft was loud.

Gostou * Easy access from the M1
* Very well presented site
* Large, almost flat pitch, no ramps needed, just minor levelling on steadies
* Ample space even for a 7.5m A Class
* Clean, warm toilet and shower facilities
* Excellent washing-up facilities
* Well-positioned for a 20+ minute, flat and safe walk into East Leake village, with good amenities including shops, cafés and pubs

Não gostou * Only two toilet/shower rooms, both en suite, meaning queues are likely at peak times
* Chemical waste point located by reception, making it a longer walk than expected from pitches
* Significant aircraft noise due to location directly under a flight path, including early morning and late-night flights
* No clear mention of aircraft noise on the official website or booking description
* Owner came across as distant and unwelcoming, which impacted the overall feel of the stay, we felt like an intrusion rather than a welcomed guest.

Gostou Lovely location, friendly owners. Clean facilities. Added bonus alpacas. Also not everyone's cup of tea but loved being under the landing path of East midlands and watching the planes go over.
