A man was arrested over the 2009 theft of a caravan in Derbyshire when the owner showed police a photo from Google Street View with the alleged thief in sight.
The white Abbey Adventurer was stolen from the owner’s Linton driveway three years ago, but despite a police investigation it was never recovered and the thief never caught.
But a year later the owner's 11 year old son was looking at the house on Google Street View and saw an image of man with a 4x4 parked in his driveway next to his caravan. He told his dad who alerted police and the case was then reopened.
A 49 year old Coventry man was then arrested in connection with the theft, and has now been released on bail while investigations continue.
