This Salerno site’s set among a series of terraced gardens a few steps away from a couple of private trails leading down to the water's edge. A couple of facts about Maiori (five minutes’ drive), your local town during a stay at this site: it’s been a sought-after spot since the Roman era and has the longest unbroken beach on the Amalfi Coast. Meander over here for sessions on the sand or to kick off a hike along the Path of the Lemons, a trail winding towards Minori through citrus fruit groves.
Trekkers might like to select a section of the path that leads all the way to Ravello (30 minutes’ drive), while those who don’t have the legs for such a stroll could just drive to this popular resort and have a shorter shuffle through Villa Cimbrone's flora-filled gardens.
Closer by is Amalfi – rock up here to see those well-known views of pastel-coloured houses spread across the seaside.
