Camping du Château de Leychoisier

Polubione De opzet en plekken zijn heel ruim en liggen in de schaduw. Vriendelijk personeel en een prachtige omgeving . Sanitair is oud maar schoon en prima te gebruiken. Wij stonden hier een nachtje op doorreis maar ik kom zeker terug om hier een paar dagen te staan.

Niepolubione Er is geen camping winkeltje en geen restaurant maar dit zorgt er ook voor dat het geen massa camping is. Wat dan weer bijdraagt aan de ontspannen sfeer. Wel iets onpraktisch voor als je later aankomt.

Polubione deze camping met ruime plekken en grote bomen die voldoende schaduw bieden. De camping is schoon en ligt prachtig bij een kasteel ( met hertjes) en een meer met waterval. De eigenaren en de gastvrouw zijn supervriendelijk. We voelden ons erg welkom! Genoeg wandel-en fietsgelegenheden. Voor erna kan je een lekkere duik in het zwembad nemen!O ja, en stokbrood en croissantjes voor ontbijt bestellen!

Polubione Lovely place to visit. Pool area lovely and nice bar. Shower area good does the job. Lovley to see the chateau and dear happily grazing .

Niepolubione RESTURANT CLOSED WHICH WAS A SHAME AS WEATHER NOT GREAT AND WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE OPTION OF SERVED MEAL.

Polubione Beautiful trees. White wine. Little cheesy biscuits. Monsieur. The spaciousness. Peacefulness. Easy to find from motorway. Old-fashioned facilities.

Polubione If you're looking for the usual French campsite, then this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're after something authentically French, head to Château de Leychoisier, just outside Limoges. This isn’t your typical commercial holiday park – it’s a stay steeped in history and charm. The château itself dates back as far as 1361, with parts of the current structure likely built in the 15th century. It has passed through the hands of several notable families and was even the backdrop to a dramatic Revolutionary-era rescue. The grounds were landscaped in 1861 by the famous French designer Paul de Lavenne de Choulot.

Everything here feels rooted in the French countryside – including the reception. Don’t expect an English-speaking student on a summer job; you’ll be greeted in French, and that’s all part of the experience. It’s a genuine slice of rural France, and all the more special for it.

For nature lovers, this place is a real delight. The château is surrounded by unspoilt forests and tranquil lakes, with trees so well established they seem to be reseeding themselves naturally. There are no marked trails – you simply find your own path, which is exactly the joy of being here. After a light rain, we set off for a walk and, for the first time on our French road trip, felt we were truly in the heart of the country.

There’s also a swimming pool on site, which looked lovely, though we opted instead for the forest walks. I would highly recommend Château de Leychoisier for anyone seeking a peaceful, deeply French retreat that connects you with both nature and history.

Polubione Grounds were nice but it was very dark ,too many trees.
Toilets and showers were smelly and dark
There is no bar as such just a room that you can sit in.
The weather wasn't great when we were there so cant comment on swimming pool.

Niepolubione Very dark place and if you need the loo in the night make sure you have a good torch.

Polubione Lovely , shaded pitches in a woodland setting. Friendly staff, dated but clean showers/toilets. Didn’t use the pool but looked very nice with range of seating etc around it.

Polubione The whole place was absolutely stunning what beautiful place in the world
Would definitely come back in a heart beat.
