Get glimpses of the numerous villages in the Balagne region by following the Route des Artisans de Balagne, which hops between villages, introducing you to various local traditions and craft making along the way. You’re near enough equidistant from L'Île-Rousse and Calvi here (20 minutes’ drive), and both are worth a visit for their gorgeous beaches. Take time also to meander through the cobbled streets of Calvi’s medieval citadel for some particularly pretty views. There are plenty more beaches in between, too, with numerous watersports to get stuck into. The nearest scuba diving club is in Sant Ambroggio (10 minutes), while Calvi's sailing club can sort out catamarans, dinghies and kayaks, and jetskiing is on the agenda in L'Île-Rousse. So, that’s the sea covered… what of the mountains? Link up with the GR 20 route at Bonifato or Calenzana forest (a half-hour drive), but bear in mind it’s considered the trickiest of the GR routes, so it’s not for the fainthearted. For more action, Altore Adventure Sports Corsica (an hour) offers things like high ropes courses, ziplining, canyoning and paragliding. Opt for some horse riding instead at the equestrian centre in Lumio, or give fishing a go in nearby Figarella river or Coddole lake.
