A full eight kilometres of sand stretches out along the Brittany town of Erdeven in Morbihan, home of greenly and scenically set Camping Kerzerho. There's direct access to the beach too – the clean and golden sands of Kerhillio, the biggest beach on the eight-kilometre stretch – and if you 're into old old history, you might be keen to know that a heap of Morbihan monoliths are within easy reach of the site….? A place as peaceful as this should have plenty of pampering also. Contemplate your thoughts in Camping Kerzerho's Chalet Zen with sauna and Jacuzzi, or let the kids loose on the waterpark with pool, paddling pool, water toys and waterslides while you contemplate a cold drink alongside. For easy food access, the snack bar serves local specialties like crepes, galettes and seafood platters; have a hungry look at the site pics to see samples. If you're feeling active (possibly not after feeling Zen or tackling a seafood platter), Kerzerho has direct access to several walking and cycling paths, and hiking, kayaking and climbing are all nearby. (Still feeling contemplative? Angling is around here too.) The Camping Kerzerho team arranges activities in high season, from ping pong and pétanque tournaments to mini golf and beach volleyball. There's a playground for the kids, with an inflatable slide, house and other means for air-filled antics.

Take another look at the site pics to see some of the smashingly scenic places to get to around Morbihan, the Brittany coast and inland, like Quiberon, St Cado, Auray, Belz, local town Erdeven and other seaside towns and sandy beaches. Ancient Quiberon is the ancient capital of cider centre Cornouaille and should be near the top of a Brittany travel list, to see its old half-timbered houses, eleventh century Locmaria Church and the small city museum, telling the tale of the town and those who lived there. For even further-back ancientness, get along to the stones of Carnac, hailed for years as one of the most important megalithic sites in Europe: its 3000 stones here make up the biggest collection of such in the world. East of the town is the huge prehistoric grave mound of the Tumulus of St. Michel, over 125 metres long and about 50 metres high. After seeing that, Carnac has more beaut beaches to roam and sunbathe on, and do have a walk on the waterfront and lunch in one of the restaurants too. More beaches are at La Grande Plage, Saint-Pierre and Penthievre; for an old port, make your way to St Goustan, and for boat trips, hail a craft from the historic town of Vannes to get to Morbihan Gulf isles like Belle Ile En Mer, Houat, Hoëdic and Groix L'Ile d'Arz. Traditional pubs and restaurants are all around too, for sampling Brittany seafood (a must), Breton galettes (also a must) and the region's famed Muscadet wine: et yes, also very much a must.
