Looking for spectacular views over Cardigan Bay? Dol Berwyn – ‘Berwyn’s Meadow’ – is home to Tŷ Nansi glamping pod, a cosy and sustainable hideaway designed to handle everything the West Wales coast can throw at it. It’s well insulated so retains heat, staying warm during crisp winter nights and cool on hot summer days.
With an interior made of locally sourced red cedar and a barrel-vaulted ceiling, the pod’s completely accessible and its accommodation for two comprises a double bed, well-equipped kitchen corner and an ensuite with a shower. You can relax over dinner at the table, or snuggle up on the comfortable sofa and watch TV. Tŷ Nansi also has double-glazed windows, cleverly sealing out coastal winds and damp air.
Outside there’s a deck for taking in the vistas from the exclusive-use hot tub, and when the sun dips below Cardigan Bay, you can transform Tŷ Nansi into a romantic sanctuary using the LED mood lighting. On clear nights, dim the lights entirely and step into the hot tub to watch a celestial show in the skies.
Providing a front-row seat to nature, the pod is also positioned so you can watch Atlantic storms roll across Cardigan Bay – and thanks to the insulation, it keeps you draft free. If you do hit the odd rainy day, turn on the underfloor heating, pour a glass of wine and keep warm by the woodfired stove.

Hikers will likely be pleased to hear they can access the Wales Coast Path at Tresaith (10 minutes’ walk) for ambles along dramatic cliffs to Penbryn Beach (45 minutes) or Aberporth (40 minutes)… and after that, there’s loads to do around Dol Berwyn, from dolphin-spotting in Cardigan Bay to discovering the waterfall on Tresaith Beach and watching vibrant sunsets from the pub nearby.
Combine your strolls with a local history lesson and head up to Foel Drygarn Hill Fort (35 minutes’ drive to the car park) to see Iron Age relics, or the dramatic megaliths topped by a precariously balanced floating stone at Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (35 minutes). You can also spend a fascinating day exploring the reconstructed roundhouses at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (half an hour) for a full immersion in Welsh antiquity.
Fans of vintage travel might like to glimpse the workings of the steam engines at the Internal Fire Museum of Power (five minutes’ drive), while the National Wool Museum (25 minutes) has interactive exhibits on weaving and spinning as well as a shop selling regionally produced artisan fabrics.
