The Fashion Museum Bath to get a feeling of all the past trends? Perhaps you'll want to snap a pic of the Royal Crescent, the Pulteney Bridge and medieval Bath Abbey as you roam around? Or get to know one iconic English writer a little better around the Jane Austen Centre? Bristol (40 minutes) is another city within reach, with a strong cultural scene, zoo and maritime museum among its main attractions. For some nature, meanwhile, the Mendip Hills (35 minutes) is packed with stunning landscapes and walking trails. You might be interested in the animal world, in which case you'll be well placed, as Longleat Safari Park (40 minutes) isn't too far off. Longleat is also home to spectacular Elizabeth grounds, another place for a good walk, or there’s the National Trust’s Prior Park Landscape Garden (15 minutes) closer by.
