Bracelands Campsite

Polubione We have always camped at Bracelands. I came here as a child and have brought my children and now my foster son. We love the area. The staff are always friendly and approachable. The facilities are good. This time we stayed in a pod for the first time. It was fantastic. The beds were comfy, the pod warm and snug, we had electricity and we were close to the washing up area and toilets and showers. The nearby town of Coleford had plenty of takeaway shops and supermarkets. We visited Goodrich castle and had a lovely afternoon there. I love coming to Bracelands especially as my foster son had a learning disability. He loves it here and I’ve been bringing him for the last 7 years. He loves the space. One of the best sights was the night sky on our first night. No light pollution and the clear sky was awe inspiring to say the least. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many stars.

Polubione Lovely, peaceful and well kept site. Greeted my a friendly member of staff. Great location for exploring the Forest. Lots of lovely walks and cycle routes.

Niepolubione No dressing area in the showers. Hard to keep clothes from getting wet whilst showering and changing.

Polubione Lovely campsite in a stunning location! Staff are great! Our children love it here, laid back vibe, very safe site and very clean. We love the “Bracelands bubble” and escaping the madness of normal life, you feel like you’re far away from civilisation, even though everything you need is fairly close by.
Love the pizza van that comes twice a week and the new onsite coffee van is a great idea but unfortunately it wasn’t open when we ventured up one morning to try it.

Niepolubione We come every year and this year noticed the toilet blocks are in dire need of upgrading! Lots of toilets and shower cubicles were out of use. Some doors were missing locks. And it’s just generally looking very tired and run down, a real shame because the site itself is so beautiful! Based on this I feel it was overpriced and after 15 years of coming, I would actually question if we would return again next year.
The site could also benefit from some levelling out to a lot of the pitches.
Looks like a lot of money has gone into new glamping accommodation and original site has been somewhat forgotten.
There was also tree management (I presume by the forestry commission rather than the site) going on during our stay, which was particularly noisy and I feel we could have been warned of this at booking, especially as it was high season.

Polubione The site was lovely and clean and in a perfect spot for walks.

Niepolubione So many loud campers after 10 and other campers taking up more room than they really should. Ie outdoor seating areas. The on site shop and food could be better.

Polubione Beautiful area with plenty of attractions nearby and an overall clean and friendly site.

Niepolubione Very hilly and not much level ground where we were and the showers aren’t great, only one temperature and not much pressure. WiFi signal was very poor and no signal for us on site

Niepolubione We stayed during a very busy weekend and staff were not able to keep on top of the rules for people to pitch 6 metres apart from each other. We were unlucky with some very close and noisey neighbours.

Lovely friendly staff, great location.

Niepolubione Pitches were very hilly. Pitches should be marked out for numerous reasons- no clear boundaries and people were just slotted in anywhere.

Polubione Beautiful location, surrounded by forest with lots of walks accessible directly from the site, including a walk to Yat Rock - well worth visiting. Very helpful team - some nice touches like the burger and pizza vans (not obtrusive). Wildlife everywhere - had deer visit overnight - fantastic - and amazing birdsong.

Niepolubione Really nothing significant to report in terms of negatives. Yes, the site has some quite steeply sloped areas, and if you arrive when it’s quite full then inevitably these tend to be the ones which are available. But the staff make it clear and try to guide you to other places.
