At the Anglesey Transport Museum & Café - Tacla Taid (five minutes’ drive), petrolheads can swoon over classic cars and vintage motorcycles, plus military vehicles and aircraft and a large Land Rover collection. If you’re not into cars and engines, a café on site serves decadent cream teas… On the banks of the Menai Strait, you can take a tour of the salt-making facilities at Halen Môn (15 minutes) and have a guided tasting of the sea salt the company produces. You can also take a wild seaweed bath in an upcycled whisky barrel. You can admire the mountains of Snowdonia from Plas Newydd House and Gardens (15 minutes), an elegant mansion on the Menai Strait. In addition to a collection of military items (including the Anglesey Leg, said to be the earliest example of prosthetic limb), the property is home to a vast mural by the 20th-century artist Rex Whistler.
