Likte This campsite is not luxurious in anyway BUT it’s extremely laid & it’s not run with millions of rules. Which we love.
They charge per person, so you’re not limited within a small pitch.
The fields are huge, and you pitch where you like, so there’s a ton of space between other campers.
We went on a super hot bank holiday weekend, and it still wasn’t crowded.
So many campsites are soo strict & have so many rules to follow- which I’m sure suit some campers- but this campsite is so chilled. They don’t even have a check out time!!
The kids were able to run around the fields and play games. One of our dogs can be quite hard work in busy settings; but he was sooo chilled the whole time as it was spacious.
We will certainly be back when we’re back in Somerset!

Likte ikke The only thing that was not a highlight, was the sawdust toilets. But then it does suit the rustic vibes of the campsite.

Likte Basically on the West Mendip Way - fantastic views of the Somerset levels just a short walk away. Just up the road from a very lovely pub with a good beer garden.

Campsite itself is very low key - no formal check-in or check-out times, which was very handy. Basically just two fields with some water taps, composting toilets and some benches. Cheap.

When I arrived the guy helpfully pointed out where the noisy people were staying.

Likte Basic but beautiful, loves the freedom of choosing our pitch. Great views, welcoming staff and compost loos were beautifully clean. We loved it!

Likte As an older single person to be tucked away was fantastic, nice views and a friendly reception.

Likte Loads of space, really quiet, plenty of composting toilet availability (lit at night). Great dog walking around.

Likte ikke Ground quite uneven, could difficult to find a spot without leveling blocks in busy times (didn't cause us any problems).

Likte Love this place come here often very basic campsite but that's fine for me lovely scenery friendly people campfire to keep you warm on the evening great base to go off walking from and no early check out what more can you want

Likte I enjoyed the easy going nature of the staff. Very helpful and friendly.

Lots of space, able to have fire pit.
Compost toilets were cleaned and keep tidy.
Great walksnearby. Local pub, Queen Victoria was friendly and welcoming with good beer and cider.

Likte We liked the simplicity or just a field, simple toilets and the low price to match.
Things are expensive nowadays but not this campsite.
Great views of sunrise and sunset 👌🏼
We’re climbers who go to Cheddar Gorge from the south east and this is an ideal location for us.
Quick overnight stop, fire in the pits provided and even a bench if you’re lucky.
We’ve stayed twice already and will stay again in our little group of 4.
