Likte I was greeted by two very friendly little dogs who took me for a walk around the tearooms.

Likte ikke Took 20 minutes of looking around (with the dogs) to find someone when I arrived to find my pitch. The chap I eventually found didn’t particularly seem to want me there.
Got to the pitch, looked absolutely nothing like the photos, it’s a small area that’s been carved out of the hill so surrounded on 3 sides by muddy walls, not big enough to set up my side awning without spilling into the access for the next pitches.
About 10 minutes into setting up, and starting to think I’d chosen the wrong site for my much needed 2 nights of relaxation, I’d already spotted at least 15 wasps trying to get into my car and tent. Everywhere I looked there was another one. Clearly a nest is somewhere on or around that pitch. I packed everything back away and left the site. £60 down the drain, which having now been to the site is excessive for the pitch I booked (bluebell)
3 wasps also joined me on the car ride to another site :(

We are sorry you had a bad experiencewith us, and didn't feel you could come and speak to us bebore you left.
Wasps have been horrific this year in the uk. Experts in the 'wasp world' are calling it a bumper year for wasps due to the warm and dry spring! Everyone we have spoken to has said they have been especially bad. We are on a weekly basis looking for nests as we have noticed an increase, but are yet to find a nest anywhere onsite. The site is located right next to a forest, so maybe they are in there. Something that is very much out of our control unfortunately. At this time of year they are very placid and are leaving their colonies to die.
With regards to your comments about the muddy walls and carved in the hills. This site was set up this year, and each pitch is dug into the soil to give privacy between pitches, with individual prviate look outs into the forestry and views infront. All the work completed has all been planted with wild flowers, so hopefully next year they will come through with some colour. With a mix of no rain, its been inpossible to establish a new wild flower garden. The site is at 1000 feet above sea level- flowers don't come through straight away at this height- things take a little longer.
The day you arrived we were closed as a tearoom, so i can only apologise you didn't easily find someone. You are given the contact details so you were able to call us, and it is signposted throughout the site to go to the wooden doors at the front of the property where there are instructions fo campers staying.
Unfortunately, on this occasion we didn't forfil your expectations, but if you had spoken to us onsite we would of been able to move you to another location onsite.
Hopefully you will give us another chance in the future.

Likte A first class experience, a lovely woodland campsite sat just off the Cleveland Way. Very friendly and straightforward on arrival. Once we had set up we visited the onsite café for coffee and cake. Again very relaxed and dog friendly. I couldn't recommend the site enough.

Likte Beautiful! The clue is in the name. Lovely café too. Nice relaxed vibe. Would love to return. Right on the edge of the forest with fabulous walking/cycling all around. Being provided with a firepit/BBQ was also a nice touch. The little shop was very handy.

Likte ikke Would only make a suggestion to extend check out time as 10am is a little early for the cost of the pitch and maybe abolish the dog charge.

Likte Facilities were incredibly clean, Everyone was super helpful and friendly . Great place to go for an escape.

Likte Everything! Perfect for us with our pooch and tent box. We stayed in the foxglove plot. We went on the Hawnby 8 mile loop walk as recommended on the website and by the owner which was delightful. Then ended back at HPF and had the most glorious lunch! The whole set up and vibe is just lovely and we’ll definitely be returning!

Likte Nice quiet location. Pretty. Safari tent was huge and perfect for us 3 mums and 4 kids. Loved that it came with fold out beds.
Rural location. Has a gorgeous indoors area which was extremely pretty.

Likte ikke Booked, tried to change date with plenty of notice (weeks) emailed / phoned and no response. So cancelled booking and told I’d get a refund. Rebooked for new date , paid deposit but never got the £22.50 refund from first booking.

They had dogs wondering around , but there poo wasn’t picked up. We had 4 children stepping in dog poo whilst trying to play.

On-site honesty shop was really expensive.

We spoke several times before your stay, and i had explained because you had cancelled your booking there was nothing i could do about a refund. So when you made the new booking i explained over the phone and when you arrived to spend the refund of £22.50 in value in the tearoom or the shop. I did not have to suggest this. You booked the wrong date and cancelled, and rebooked. Booking through a third party (pitchup/stripe) means we can't just give a refund out You had cancelled the booking so the booking techincally doesn't exist anymore. I cant give to something that doesn't exist. You were more than happy to spend the difference onsite, but never did. Not sure what else i can do, apart from give you cash out the till. Im sure you would appreciate this then makes the books incorrect and we can't just do that.
Dogs- we poo pick twice a day. There is also alot of customers with dogs onsite and coming through daily. We manage this the best we can do. You are correct our dogs do roam free- we are a smallhold farm. Your kids loved the dogs.
The shop is reasonably priced, maybe not as cheap as Lidl, but we are not Lidl. Homegrown meat and small vineyard wines cost, and unfortunately we do not have the buying power that a supermerket has. I pick up this stock on my 'days off' to give customers onsite convenience.
Sorry this place was not for you, however we are pleased you liked the location, the 20k tent you slept in and the fold out beds :)

Likte Peaceful site with beautiful views. Lovely tea room. Generally well-maintained facilities. Honestly shop available 24/7. Plenty of drinking water taps across the site. Friendly staff. On the Cleveland Way so direct access to loads of walks of varying lengths and difficulty. Fire pit and picnic bench at every pitch. Very dog friendly.

Likte ikke Shower didn't drain properly so ended up standing in a puddle of water with the plug hole backing up. Out of date produce in the shop - needs to be checked more regularly.

Likte Perfect campsite, tranquil, beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, gorgeous food at the cafe. There's everything you need for a comfortable stay @ paradise
