Pitchup.com launches UK’s first bookable outdoor accommodation app

Pitchup has upgraded its app to a new web-based version that is not available in Google Play or iTunes. Follow these instructions to download it.

Outdoor accommodation specialist, Pitchup.com, has become the first company in the UK to create an app that allows users to book nearly 700 outdoor accommodation locations in the UK, Ireland and France.

The app is available to download from iTunes. An Android app will follow shortly and in the meantime users can visit the new mobile site at http://www.pitchup.com. Dan Yates has previously pioneered state-of-the-art technology dating back as far as 2006 when he launched lastminute.com’s first mobile hotel booking facility.

The interactive app is designed to offer almost the same amount of functionality as the main website. Key features include:

• Free to download/use, with no booking fees
• Choice of 684 campsites and holiday parks in the UK, France and Ireland, 424 of which already feature 2014 pricing and availability
• Fast search function – filter and sort in the same way as the main website
• Search near device’s location or by location, site name or postcode
• See full descriptions, local attractions, reviews, features and photos
• Brand new booking page specially designed for mobile keypads and smaller screens
• Log in to view past and present bookings, favourites and request a duplicate email booking confirmation
• Option to receive a text message with booking details
