Happy tenth birthday to the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester, which first opened its doors on 5 July 2002.
Part of the Imperial War Museum (IWM) group, which includes IWM Duxford as well as the IWN, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast in London, IWN North has welcomed over 2.5 million visitors and held more than 60 displays and special exhibitions.
They’re marking the occasion by celebrating all things ten, including a slideshow on their website on ten things not to miss at IWN North and a display of ten stories of people in war and conflict.
Make a weekend of it by booking a pitch at Moorlands Caravan Park just 14 miles away, where you can take in the Pennine views then snuggle up in a camping pod for £40 a night for two people. A family pod is also available, sleeping two adults and three children, for £52.
