How might you fancy waking up in the morning and strolling straight out onto the beach? If that idea sounds appealing (and no doubt it does…), take a look at the fabulous location of Cabeiro Camping – this Galicia site is right by the soft sands and clear waters of Praia de Caveiro.
Staying in this spot of course means that you can wander out onto the beach whenever you like, for a swim, a picnic or a bit of time playing games in the sand. That may well be enough to keep you busy for a good number of hours/days – but if you’d like to explore further you can head out onto hiking and bike trails in the surrounding area or hire kayaks on site to paddle your way along the coastline a little bit.
There are lots of great beaches and little villages to visit along this stretch of coastline, so it’s well worth heading out to places like Porto do Son, Praia de Aguieira and Playa de Fonforron (about five minutes’ drive/10 minutes by bike). Turning inland, meanwhile, brings various options for outings, with the biggest draw being Santiago de Compostela, 40 minutes’ drive away.
It’s possible the beach alone is enough to entice you to stay here, but it’s handy to know that there’s a good list of facilities provided too. Guests have access to a play area, a bar and a restaurant as well as a launderette, chemical disposal point and well-equipped bathrooms. The spacious pitches all have electric connections and there’s usually some shade to keep you cool in the summer sun.

- Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan (zoals de pitbullterriër, tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro). Ook de volgende rassen zijn niet welkom: de staffordshire-bulterriër, Amerikaanse staffordshireterriër, rottweiler en mastiff.
- Het restaurant is geopend van 01/07 tot 31/08.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden
Lounging on the beach and dipping into the sea right by your pitch may well be the main focus of your holiday, but it’s worth getting out and about a little if you can – even if that only involves bringing your bikes and cycling over to Praia de Aguieira or Playa de Fonforron (10 minutes by bike).
Sticking to the coast could also involve exploring the Castro de Baroña ruins (10 minutes’ drive), wandering through the nature reserve at Dunas de Corrubedo (25 minutes) or signing up for lessons at one of the area’s surf schools. If you don’t fancy that, how about taking a walk followed by a dip in the natural pools at Pozas do Río Pedras (35 minutes).
For a full day out, take a trip to Santiago de Compostela (40 minutes) – the city’s highlight is the huge ornate cathedral, but there are plenty of other attractions including the Museo das Peregrinacións, the Contemporary Art Center of Galicia and the Mercado de Abastos.
