Voeg je bedrijfsgegevens toePlanning a trip to the Pre-Pyrenees? If mountain views and riverfront access are your thing, Catalonia's Ares EcoResort could be just the spot. This site has a splendid range of activities, including fishing, watersports, and boating (there's a private berth for visitors). The surrounding Montsec region, meanwhile, is a hub for hiking, mountain biking and climbing, and top tourist towns like Àger and Balaguer are within easy reach.
Guests seeking outdoor hols in the Catalan hills will find ample space at Ares EcoResort, half an hour's drive north of Camarasa: visitors can ramble along peaceful paths through the well-kept grounds, and there are plenty of trees around for shade. When the weather is fine, alfresco swims are in order at the pool (a warmer option than the river, although natural dips can also be had). The park's riverside location comes with several perks: site staff can sort kayak rental, boat trips to Montrebei and waterskiing over the crystal-clear water, and fishing trips can also be arranged.
There's a lot to like here in terms of practicalities, too, like free wifi, an on-site food shop and a restaurant (most handy given the remote location). There's also a small but well-stocked supermarket in Àger (10 minutes' drive); the town is also home to a couple of bars with terraces where guests can sit back and take in spectacular mountain vistas.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden
This area's a prime spot for adventurous sports, so make sure to pack sturdy footwear. For a jaunt that combines adrenaline with inner peace, head to the local climbing zone at Olmo-Soler (30 minutes' drive) and then make a trip to the Mare de Déu hermitage next door. There are also some rewarding hikes in the area, including the Mu gorge (30 minutes), where highlights include cliffside platforms and a suspension bridge that passes high above a tree-lined lake.
If you like to keep your mind active as well as your body, head to the observatory at Montrebei for stargazing and a crash course in astrophysics (20 minutes). More museums can be found in Lleida (about an hour), including engaging exhibits about cars, fine art and archaeology. A land train is also on hand for whistle-stop tours of the old town.
History fans, meanwhile, should make tracks for Balaguer (30 minutes) for medieval architecture. The town is also something of a culinary hub: there are heaps of top restaurants here (including a couple with Michelin stars) and vineyard tours can be sorted, too.
