What a scenic setting… Catalonia's Camping El Pont is in an area of pine and oak forest, with greenery all around, and with a forest stream meandering alongside. It's also in a wildlife haven in the Natural Area of Les Guilleries-Savassona and 11 kilometres from the popular watersports and swimming spot of the Sau reservoir – and if you're the type to hanker after old artefacts, take a look at the site pics to spot the nearby Roman bridge… The knowledgeable team at El Pont is happy to share tips and info on what to see and do in the surrounding area, from canoeing on the Sau to hiking and mountain biking, or sightseeing in the old market town of Vic within easy reach. (If you seek mucho sightseeing, Barcelona is about 100 kilometres away.) On site for your leisurely pleasure is a pool and a miniature golf course, a playground, table tennis, a football pitch and a games and TV room. Food is served at the restaurant, or you can pick up produce in the El Pont shop to have back at your pitch: barbecues are allowed on site. Amenities include a spacious and comfortable toilet and shower block with hot water, washing machines and a tumble dryer. The site has free wifi.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Ask the El Pont team for tips on arranging activities and mountain biking along the nearby routes, or go fishing and canoeing at the Pantà de Sau reservoir. The reservoir's also an interesting spot for its glimpses of the Church of Sant Romà, submerged along with its village and still visible when the water level is low. Travel along the N-141 from the site's local town of Vilanova de Sau to the traditional market of the town of Vic, the capital of the Osana cormaca and set between Barcelona and the Pyrenees. Famed sights include its cathedral and museum with collection of Romanesque and Gothic art, the town markets and the Jesuit college near the Santa Cova. Also a popular stop in the region is the Sant Pere de Casserres Benedictine monastery, a spectacular 11th-century structure that's been a Bien de Interés Cultural landmark since 1931.
