Spectacularly scenic Sardinia, a land of sandy beaches, mountain hiking and nearly two thousand kilometres' worth of gorge coastline – might you pledge to walk around it all? On the island's west coast, in the heart of a 12-hectare pine grove and scenically set among junipers, mimosas and aloes is family-friendly Camping Nurapolis, just north of the exceptionally scenic Sinis Peninsula and a site so close to its local beach that guests have direct access to these Sardinian sands. (You'll find rather a lot more white sands around the peninsula, so – seriously – do make sure you bring a camera.) Camping Nurapolis has basic facilities including an amenities block with loos, hot showers and a laundry room. The site also has a restaurant with a spacious covered terrace – Sardegna is such a spiffing spot for loved up dinners all alfresco...

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

The lagoons, cliffs and beaches of the gorgeous Sinis Peninsula are places you could wander on a loved up or solitary basis for aeons: this is a marine protected area, and as you'd expect has lots of critters to spy from its shores and at its flamingo-filled salt lakes. Visit the fishing town of Cabras, Is Benas, Sale Porcus and the spaghetti Western village of San Salvatore di Sinis for peninsula days out at a sleepy pace, or get active at windsurfing, sailing, motorboating or scuba diving depending on the season. Or you could hire a bike and pedal off into the countryside around Camping Nurapolis: suggested stopoffs include the archaeological site of Tharros, the giant statues of Monte Prama in Cabras, the S'Archittu and the Sa Mesa Longa rock formations.
