With a spectacular and peaceful setting on the western shores of Lake Annecy in the Haute-Savoie, Camping au Coeur du Lac is 15 minutes’ drive from the elegant and historic town of Annecy. Surrounded by alpine foothills, the site has splendid views of Mont Veyrier and the craggy Dents de Lanfon on the opposite side of the lake. The level grass pitches overlook the shoreline, and you have all the facilities (hot water in the showers, parent-and-baby room, washing-up sinks) that make camping life easy for families. In high season there’s a constant supply of coffee, ice cream or snacks on hand at the site’s café, where occasional pizza nights also take place. A supermarket about five minutes’ walk away has all your grocery needs covered if you feel like sparking up the barbecue. Sporty types can keep busy playing pétanque on site, or perhaps getting out on their bikes (you have direct access to a round-the-lake cycle path from the pitches). You can also launch your own canoes, kayaks and paddleboards from the small lakeside beach five minutes’ walk away.

Deze camping ligt prachtig aan het Meer van Annecy, met directe toegang tot strand en fietspaden. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, faciliteiten schoon maar basic. Pitching is goed, al was de ondergrond soms oneffen. Winkels en fietsen naar Annecy zijn pluspunten.

Ik was blij met Location - close to the lake for swimming - friendly staff - well marked pitched

Ik was niet blij met Toilet and shower facilities were clean but very basic, provide hand soap and toilet paper would be a simple basic.

Ik was blij met Le service de la personne à l’accueil. Très sympathique. Nous avions oublié notre prise européenne, l’employé nous a tout de suite proposé de nous en prêter une.

Le cadre est magnifique, à deux pas du lac.

Ik was blij met Perfect location. Stayed for 2 nights. Gate to Lake Annecy about 1 minute walk. Used our Kayak on the lake.
- Lidl walking distance and 10/10 bakery about 2 shops further on.
- Clean facility’s.
- Cycle route into the old town
- Great sports outlet shop walking distance

Ik was niet blij met Uneven pitches along the bottom where we were. Make sure to bring ramps!

Ik was blij met Everything! Large private pitches, beautiful clean and well-maintained bathrooms (loved the classical music) and the host was very knowledgable about the area and happy to recommend places to go. We were just stopping for a night but liked it so much we stayed longer.

Ik was blij met Stunning views of Lake Annecy and close proximity (4km) to the beautiful town. Cycle path just outside the campsite, ideal for cycling along the lake to Annecy.

Ik was niet blij met Facilities not so good. No washing machine or WiFi as advertised. Showers warm but very small. Basic facilities.

If you’re holidaying with the kids, chances are you’ll venture no further than Plage Les Choseaux - Clos Berthet, five minutes’ stroll away and directly accessible from the site. Here you can swim in the clear waters of Lake Annecy, go sailing, kayaking or paddleboarding; rent gear from the watersports hub 10 minutes’ walk north of the site. However, when more thrills are required, the site owners can arrange paragliding adventures (15 minutes’ drive) so you can see the lake and mountains from a bird’s-eye perspective. Travelling with younger kids? Take them to meet the deer herds at the Parc Animalier des Dronières (45 minutes), where there’s also an outdoor play area. Energetic youngsters can also bounce around on the trampolines at Katapult (also 45 minutes), or test their stamina on treetop rope courses at Le Grand Parc d’Andilly (50 minutes). The gracious old town of Annecy (15 minutes) entices you in with its medieval Palais de I’Île, artworks in the Musée-Château d’Annecy and bridges lined with flowers. Bistros, bars and souvenir shops pack alleys along the Canal du Vassé, and you can take boat trips around the lake from the Quai de la Tournette. Be sure to stop off at the gleaming-white Basilique de la Visitation (also 15 minutes) to discover its light-flooded marble interior and glimpse incomparable views over Lake Annecy.
