Beachside days, posh shopping days, outdoorsy days and long lazy days on site are all well within your holiday reach here, for this well-appointed spot is sandwiched between the lush and colourful Provençal countryside and the French Riviera, within easy driving distance of the famed coastal settlements of Cannes, Nice and Antibes and several topping towns inland. Camping L'Orée d'Azur is a fine forested family site in Opio: the surroundings are splendidly shaded, and the many facilities modern. Begin your break first with an amble over to the heated pool, perhaps, for a full-on dunk or to dip your toe every now and again in between sun lounger lazes. Then, when appetites have been amply built, have yourself a stroll to the restaurant for something scrumptious (the salads here are good and sizable too); otherwise, an Italian restaurant is a short walk from the park, and picnic supplies to be enjoyed on site under pleasant partial shade can be procured from nearby Opio. The recreation area is a good spot too for yet more relaxed activity time, furnished most generously with football and pool tables, two outdoor ping pong tables and a playground, plus pétanque, tennis and volleyball courts. For further on-hol fun, the team organises plenty of entertainment and activities during high season with events like dance nights, karaoke evenings, piano concerts, plus sports tournaments to encourage a little friendly inter-guest competition.

There’s absolutely tons of lush and lovely stuff to do along the coast and further inland around the Provençal countryside within easy reach of Camping L'Orée d'Azur. For outdoorsy days, go canyoning, rafting, climbing, go-karting, horse riding and hiking in the surrounding locale, or tee off at the 18-hole golf courses in nearby Opio Valbonne and La Grande Bastide. Venture over to Cannes, famed for its film festival, boutique shops and delis, swanky bars and salubrious restaurants, or to Nice to stroll along its famed seven-kilometre Promenade des Anglais or around its Old Town and swish shopping options. More poshness can be purveyed over in Monaco too, for it’s filled with luxury shops and restaurants and is home to the Circuit de Monaco and the opulent 12th-century Prince's Palace of Monaco. Family outings to several coastal spots are easy to organise from here: take the tiddlers over to Antibes to visit its famed Marineland aquarium and meet sea lions, dolphins and sharks (you’ll get to swim with all three, should you be brave enough), and finish the day off with a visit to the waterpark nearby; it’s got a lazy river to float along and a highly windy 12.5-metre toboggan slide to shoot down, so there’s lots to give tiny peeps plenty to do in the water while grownups laze around on the solarium alongside.
