If there’s one experience that sums up the ambience of Les Sources, it could well be the chance to sit quietly and simply watch the koi carp swimming in the pond. That’s because this Lower Normandy site is a place of real calm, where you can slow life down and take some time to focus on life's simple pleasures.
When you’re not watching the fish, you could perhaps be watching the dragonflies dance across the pond, listening to the birds singing or wandering through the water garden and wild areas to see what bees, butterflies and small mammals you might be able to spot. You’ll be sharing the space with some friendly horses, too, so do give them a wave as you pass.
All of this probably sounds hugely relaxing already, but there's more… because owner Agnes also offers relaxation and meditation sessions or therapeutic ethology sessions with the horses.
In fact, pretty much everything here has been designed to create a nicely relaxed atmosphere for guests (while always staying respectful of the natural environment too). A launderette, drinking water supply and dry toilet are all on hand, and a sweet little old barn has been transformed into a washing facility with washing-up area and hot shower (there's a small charge for the shower, to cover the cost of gas and keep the pitch prices low).
Outdoor time is what it’s all about here – and to help you make the most of it, the owners have provided a large outdoor table and chairs, a couple of campfire areas and two barbecues (a small supply of wood is provided, with more available to buy when this runs out).

- Het gebruik van de douche kost € 2,00.
- Voertuigen met tandemas zijn niet toegestaan op deze camping.
- Deze camping ontvangt alleen gezinnen (directe familieleden) en koppels; reserveringen van andere groepen worden niet aangenomen.
- Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 30 meter nodig.
- Onderkomens die langer zijn dan 6 meter, zijn niet toegestaan.
- Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
- Er is geen open vuur toegestaan in de gehuurde accommodaties.
- Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.
- Er is geen receptie ter plaatse: neem bij aankomst contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.

You're probably here for the rural vibe, but it’s worth popping into some of the local towns – perhaps Cuves (five minutes' drive) for the local shop and a great restaurant, Brécey (10 minutes) for more amenities and a market, or Avranches (25 minutes) for its castle and botanical garden.
Sticking firmly to your countryside pursuits? You can take a walk through the forest near the site, wander to the waterfalls from Mortain (20 minutes) or take waterside strolls at Lac du Gast (20 minutes) or Lac de la Dathée (25 minutes). Something more challenging? The long-distance GR22 passes about 20 minutes away.
You may have noticed the coast isn’t far off, either – the spectacular Mont Saint-Michel (45 minutes) is a real highlight, and there are also some lovely beaches in places like Bec D’Andaine and Carolles (both 40 minutes). For a scenic drive, take the D911 along the coast, checking out the views towards Mont Saint-Michel as you go.
