Ik was blij met Fantastic place from the minute you drive in . A warm welcome ,a tour round the camp to find a pitch you like. Everything is spotless toilets showers wash up area . Staff constantly working to keep it that way. On site shop warm croissants in the morning what not to like.

Ik was niet blij met Not much . All the staff was veryfriendly, also the waiters in the restaurant were very nice.
The only thing we missed was good authentic Kroatisch food in the restaurant.

Ik was blij met During the summer, we set off by car for a comprehensive road trip across Europe. A key destination on our itinerary was Plitvice Lakes National Park in the Republic of Croatia. Although we had previously stayed exclusively in hotels, this marked our first experience at a European campsite.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed at a wooden entrance gate. The staff requested our booking reference and passports, a procedure that is likely standard practice throughout Europe. While I found handing over my passport somewhat unsettling, the process was efficiently handled. We were instructed to select a pitch for our tent and then report to the site office to complete payment; our passports were returned promptly thereafter.

Advance booking proved advantageous given the complex pricing structure, which itemized charges for variables such as days of stay, vehicles, axles, tents, occupants, dogs, city tax, and eco tax.

After surveying the site, we chose a pitch near the entrance. Although the grounds were not crowded, most level sites were occupied by motorhomes, leaving tent pitches comparatively limited. Once established, we visited the office where the staff processed our payment and provided useful multilingual brochures on local attractions, assisting us in planning additional excursions.

I had anticipated purchasing a mobile mains kit to utilize the campsite’s electrical hook-ups, but after multiple unsuccessful attempts at stores along our route from Zagreb, I learned the campsite shop primarily offered snacks and drinks rather than camping supplies. As a result, we relied on battery packs and vehicle charging for our devices.

On the first night, my wife was disturbed by wolf howls, and knowing the region was home to bears, we took note of the fenced perimeter. My attempt at humour regarding potential wildlife encounters resulted in the purchase of bear spray, priced at nearly 50€.

The second night brought heavy rain, which, combined with sparse grass coverage, left our tent muddy. Onsite leisure amenities were minimal; only a restaurant was operational, as the café was closed. After paying approximately 15€ per person for the breakfast buffet, our son’s meal consisted solely of a pain au chocolat.

While the amenities were basic, they were clean and well-maintained, including complementary wifi, restrooms, showers, and washing facilities.

The site's location is exceptionally convenient for exploring the lakes and numerous nearby attractions. Shops located near the entrance offered competitive prices, and several restaurants featuring both traditional and fine dining options were available along the main road.

Ultimately, while this experience has not dissuaded us from future camping in Europe, it has prompted us to give closer consideration to hotel accommodations moving forward.
