When opportunities for fab rural breaks come knocking, only a resounding yes will do. And by booking a stay at Knock Farm, you'll be saying yes to a relaxed camping trip on a working smallholding deep in the Pembrokeshire countryside. Set over three acres of wild grasses and spring-flowering trees and with far-reaching views over the Preseli Hills, this small and simple site is located in the grounds of Knock Farm, a 19th-century farmhouse and working smallholding in Wiston. This is a relaxed and rural place to come and stay, but it's easy to get around the local area, as it's just a mile from Clarbeston Road railway station and under half an hour's drive of the coast (the nearest beach is at Newgale, a popular surfing spot about 25 minutes away). On site, there's a firepit where you can gather round the flames and tell stories or cook your dinner; logs are available to buy on site to keep the embers glowing until after dark. For evenings out, there's also a pub about a mile away, and the site is within easy reach of fish and chip shops and takeaways in the surrounding area too. Toilets and showers are provided on site, but otherwise the surroundings have been left refreshingly untouched for that true rural experience.

  • Kortingskaarten en cadeaubonnen kunnen niet gebruikt worden bij reserveringen via Pitchup.com.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 21 of ouder te zijn.
  • Onderkomens die langer zijn dan 6 meter, zijn niet toegestaan.
  • Onderkomens die zwaarder zijn dan 7500 , zijn niet toegestaan.
  • Als je vuur wilt maken, dien je de brandstof, houtblokken en kolen daarvoor ter plaatse te kopen.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.

Ik was blij met: Peaceful camp site, beautiful view when sat at the fire pit. Logs and kindling available onsite for a reasonable price. Very friendly hosts and their two dogs and donkeys. Clean toilet and shower. Local pub 20min walk or 5min drive. However phone and check before going as they don't always serve food.

Ik was blij met: Lovely peaceful campsite. Very basic but has what you need. Lovely clean toilet and shower. Amazing fire pit with a view of the Preseli hills. Firewood available for purchase. 20 min walk to local pub, I suggest you call before making the journey as they do not always serve food.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Google maps will likely send you to the wrong Knock Farm so double check the address.

Ik was blij met: Everything. The hosts were really friendly and helpful, with loads of info on the local area, they even came up to the field to ask if my son wanted to come see the donkeys when they were being fed. The site is really beautiful, lovely spacious pitches that are far apart from each other, surrounded by beautiful trees. The view is lovely, especially from the fire pit, you can sit watching the fire with the Preseli hills in the background. Great facilities, clean and spacious. You can buy a huge box of very reasonably priced wood for the fire if you choose to have one. They also give you a box for your recycling and rubbish, along with toilet paper and magazine with lots of useful info about things to do in the area and tide times etc. All in all we had everything we needed and more, on a very beautiful site.

Ik was blij met: A basic site that was perfect, nice clean bathroom, toilet and shower. A very quiet site made it a great stopover on our way back from Fishguard. Not a lot of shops, pubs etc. around the site but if that’s not what you’re after it is perfect, it was perfect for us.

Ik was blij met: Pitches were well sized, amazing scenery, remote, quiet at night, owners were very friendly and welcoming, Millie and Wilson were super cute! 🐶 Campfire was perfect! Bathroom facilities were perfect! Definitely would stay again in the future!

Ik was blij met: Hosts was excellent , the camp site was great even has a fire pit there. Even though we was near a road it was quiet , took the kids camping for there first time and they absolutely loved it , definitely going to recommend

Ik was blij met: How lovely and friendly the staff were, the seclusion of the camp site and breakfast was amazing!! Tasty and full!!! Felt like you were at home and the dog friendly part was so helpful!

Ik was niet zo blij met: Nothing to dislike but only had one toilet so had to wait a lot.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

This site is in a great central location for exploring the 186 miles of coastal path on offer in Pembrokeshire, but you could also use it as a launchpad for exploring the county's innumerable castles (like the one in Pembroke, half an hour away to the south) or ancient monuments (such as the Pentre Ifan burial chamber, 25 minutes away to the north). You'll also be within a quick five-minute drive of the lovely Llys-y-frân reservoir, where scenic rural walks, cycling, water-based activities and a café are up for grabs. Both the northern and western flanks of the Pembrokeshire coastline (and its national park) are within easy driving distance too, so you can take day trips to see the pretty pastel-coloured harbourfront in Fishguard (25 minutes) or spread yourself out on the sand on any one of the beaches around St Brides Bay (35 minutes). If you've got kids to keep entertained, you may like to note that the popular Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (20 minutes) is about 14 miles from base. The outdoor rides and games on offer at Oakwood Theme Park (15 minutes) may prove tempting too (and could be potentially useful as a bribe to keep your little ones on their best behaviour…).
