Based in a rural location on the outskirts of Pembrokeshire’s little Ludchurch village, it's certainly quiet and private at Thorny Bush… but don’t be fooled into thinking that days out at the likes of family amusements, golden-sand beaches and activity centres are far off. In fact, there are several sandy beaches just 10 minutes’ drive away from the site and attractions for family-friendly days out in abundance in the local area. First, you might be drawn to the golden sands of Saundersfoot beach (10 minutes’ drive) for days of swimming, canoeing, windsurfing or sailing. There are paddleboards or kayaks for hire at Coppet Hall beach (10 minutes), and rockpools to rummage in too. Telpyn beach (10 minutes) is also spectacular, and quieter, with several of the site’s closest pubs and restaurants on the way down (just five minutes’ drive or so from the site). Of course, it’s only natural that the splendid countryside views on site might distract you for some time. Thorny Bush welcomes both dogs and kids, with secure gardens and easy access to popular attractions including Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo 10 minutes’ drive away or a wildlife park, Oakwood Theme Park and activity centres 15 minutes’ drive away. Tracking down something tasty to eat should be pretty straightforward too, as the market town of Narberth is 10 minutes’ drive away from the site for additional restaurant options. The rural setting of the site means all guests will need a car to get around, so load everyone in and get ready for quality time, whether you're travelling as a family, a couple or a group.

Thorny Bush biedt een rustige, afgelegen ervaring met prachtig plattelandsuitzicht. Gasten prijzen de vriendelijke hosts. Elk plek heeft een eigen toilet, met zeer schone douches. Het kleine aantal plekken zorgt voor exclusiviteit. Wifi ontbreekt, maar mobiel bereik is goed. Ideaal voor strand- en stadsexcursies. Zeer hondvriendelijk.

Ik was blij met Really can't fault Thorny Bush at all! Vicki is really lovely and always on hand should you need help with anything.

Having only two camping pitches on site makes it feel much more "exclusive" compared to the hustle and bustle of normal sites.

Each pitch is allocated its own toilet which is a lovely touch and they're close enough to the pitches that you can happily allow the kids to go by themselves with no worries

Also should you choose to stay here, I highly recommend you buy eggs on site and try the milkshakes just down the road at the Simply Milk vending machine!

Ik was niet blij met I wouldn't necessarily say this is a negative point as it's purely down to individual preference but for us it would have been nice to have on site WiFi as phone signal seemed to drop every now and then

Ik was blij met Loved everything about the cabin, it was spotless, 100% safe for the dogs and very friendly host! The cabin had everything we needed, even really good internet connection. Our dogs absolutely loved the freedom of being able to roam in a safe environment and we could relax knowing they were safe! The bonus for us was the enclosed field, although there was plenty of space in the hive garden it was nice to change it up a bit

Ik was blij met Greeted by Vicki as soon as I arrived and shown me around. Love that I had my own toil & the shower was excellent. Only 2 electric pitches so it was nice and quiet, slept well waiting to do ironman Wales.
Also a nice touch as woke up to find fresh eggs outside my tent as its a working small holding/farm. No wifi however good signal three mobile.

Ik was blij met Literally everything was perfect.
Vicki meet us on arrival and showed us round. Gave us plenty of local information on places to visit ,eat etc. Honestly just a lovely lovely person. It felt as if we'd known Vicki for years!

The Hive is just magical. It's cosy yet plenty of space. Travelling group of 2 adults 1 teen and two collie dogs.
Lovely little arrival refreshments & biscuits for the dogs. Plenty of logs for the fire,which was soooo cosy by night. Everything in and around The Hive was spotless and it has such a homily feel to it.

We were blown away by the beauty of the enclosed garden & field walk. Perfect for the dogs and stretching the legs in the morning
It was mainly beach walks and paddleboarding for us.
The location is fabulous. Only a short drive to a number of beaches. Saundersfoot is lovely for a look around the shops and restaurants .

One night we sat out on the decking watching the stars it was simply the perfect end to the day.
Really looking forward to returning.

Ik was blij met Well kept field we booked the 2 pitches with other family members. Scenic view of the woods and fields beyond from the pitches. Toilets, shower and washing area immaculate. Enjoyable evenings watching the kids play in the field , having family bbqs, s’mores around our fire pit and watching the stars in the clear night sky. Perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of life and spend quality time with the family 🤩 thank you to host Vicki and her family for all their hard work 🥰 definitely will return and highly recommend

Ik was blij met Everything.
The place is secluded enough to be away from the noises of the road and other campsites, but close enough to the motorway, shops, and some great locations.
The toilets and the shower are almost brand new and super clean.
The host os welcoming but not intrusive.
The place is tiny so you feel like on a private trip (almost)

I put wifi as 5* as to not affect the total rating but we never used it and I don't even know if its available on site - the mobile coverage was pretty good.

What could be on the itinerary here? Well, aside from excellent Pembrokeshire coastal walks, beaches and watersports, there’s plenty to occupy your time. For example, you might want to put your team’s brainpower to the test with escape rooms such as those at Tenby's Great Escape (15 minutes’ drive). For an active challenge, there are watersports centres around the coast, plus wakeboarding, an aqua park and bouldering at Wild Lakes Wales (15 minutes). Rollercoasters are on the menu at Oakwood Theme Park (15 minutes), while those of you who’d like to give paintballing, archery or miniature golf a try might also like Heatherton World of Activities (15 minutes). As well as huge dinosaur figurines, Dinosaur Park (15 minutes) has go-karting activities and adventure playgrounds. Animals are part of the attraction at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes) or the walking safari at Manor Wildlife Park (15 minutes). For a visit to a medieval castle (and perhaps a guided tour behind the walls), check out Pembroke Castle (25 minutes).
