Pottering around Pembrokeshire is always a good time, but cosying up for a weekend or longer in a bell tent set up on your behalf during a trip to this terrific county? Well, that's sure to make it all the better... ...Which is where YHA Broad Haven comes in, a hostel organising glamping experiences in teepee-inspired accommodation. Each space has a double bed and two single mattresses for up to four people, as well as comfy beanbags to lie back on during the day. Bedside tables, a coffee table, rugs, soft flooring and solar lighting make up the other furnishings, and the premium bell tents have woodburners to keep you warm. When it’s time to leave your cosy digs and seek sand, the site’s a 25-minute walk (at low tide) from Little Haven's beach, quayside and fishermen's houses via Wales’ countrywide coastal path. Come back ready for eats at the park’s café – drinking in the views out to sea from its wide windows – or get cooking in the kitchen. A supermarket is less than a 10-minute walk from the site, free wifi’s available in common areas like the lounge, and board games and a games room are on hand for extra entertainment. Hoping for a bit of quiet time? Pick up a book from the library and find a serene spot out in the grassy green grounds with views out over the west Wales countryside...

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Pembrokeshire’s got loads of stuff to see and do including beaches by the bucketload: plenty are nearby such as Marloes Sands within half an hour, Barafundle Bay around 35 minutes away and the three circling the seaside town of Tenby (40 minutes’ drive). For coastal ambles, St. Ann's Head Lighthouse with spectacular views over the entrance to the deep Milford Haven waterway is 25 minutes’ drive; Pembroke Castle also takes this long to reach if you’re pining to peer at one of the 600 or so castles dotted about the country. Brought the kids on a break to YHA Broad Haven? They’ll likely already be begging for a trip to Oakwood Theme Park (30 minutes) for rollercoaster rides galore, but you could also tote them to Heatherton World of Activities (also half an hour away) for high ropes adventure courses and go-karting. Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is also always a winner with younger holidaymakers for its petting zoo and fairground...
