Make your way up the bumpy woodland mountainside to the quiet Plas Panteidal and you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous mountain views and glimpses of the Dyfi Estuary. A five-minute drive from Aberdovey, the comfy lodge here sleeps two in a double bedroom, and it's kept warm whatever the weather thanks to the electric heating throughout. This is a fab place to cosy up for a few days: it's got a lounge with TV and DVD player for evenings in, as well as a garden room with seating to admire the pretty views over a drink or two. When it comes to mealtimes, grab supplies from the supermarket (10 minutes away) and get to work in the well-equipped kitchen (it's got an oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster to assist you in knocking up some home-cooked eats). Other facilities include a bathroom with shower, and private parking at the side of the lodge. And it's also a fab place to settle in for a good variety of north Wales outings: being located in the Snowdonia National Park means walks, bike rides and other outdoorsy activities (with excellent views) are never far away, and it's a mere five-minute drive to the Gwynedd coast too for a bit of seaside scenery and strolling. A quick word of warning: the water here comes from a private spring and can, at times, be discoloured. Guests are therefore advised to use bottled water for drinking and food prep.
