Bed down in the Brecon Beacons National Park – and have yourself a slice of proper Powys farm life while you’re at it too. Set on Bryn Hill, with views of the Black Mountains, Coity Bach is a welcoming and friendly rural site on a farm just over a mile from the pretty little village of Talybont-on-Usk. This is a prime area for walkers. The Beacons Way trail can be accessed directly from the farm, and if you're up for climbing the national park's highest mountain, it's a 30-minute drive to the main car park for Pen y Fan (alternatively, on foot from the farm, the summit is a four- or five-hour round-trip hike). There's also excellent terrain for cycling around these parts: hire a bike in the village if needed. Budding farmhands can get stuck into various tasks on site, helping out with the goats and horses, while those in search of more relaxing times can simply settle down in a serene setting for idle hours on site. Either way, it’s worth staying awake until after dark if you can: there’s some great stargazing to be done here, and barbecues and campfires are both allowed to keep you warm while you do just that. As for sprucing yourself up too, communal amenities on site include showers, toilets, a washing-up area with double sinks, a laundry area and a drying room. There are also charging and recycling facilities. If you are indeed planning a barbecue or firepit, both can be hired at the farm; wood is for sale, too, alongside meat, eggs and honey. To eat out, four pubs are within a mile and a half at Talybont-on-Usk. And for bigger towns, the farm is a 15-minute drive from Brecon, 20 minutes from Crickhowell, half an hour from Abergavenny and 35 minutes from Hay-on-Wye.

Ik was blij met sehr schöner Ausblick, freundliches Team, gute Picknickplätze

Ik was niet blij met Toiletten und Duschen zwar täglich aber wirklich nur oberflächlich geputzt und zu wenige, wenn der Platzt gut gefüllt ist. Toilette oft verstopft, vieles kaputt, viel Müll und alter Krempel liegt überall herum. Vieles sehr improvisiert.

Ik was blij met Absolutely loved this place ,great views lovely farm animals and super friendly owners my dog broke his harness and the owner was straight up with a harness from one of her own dogs that I could borrow which I thought was so lovely. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend 👌

Ik was niet blij met Needs more / improved toilet facilities when busy - also had issues with water supply during our stay which was due to current drought and obviously outside the site's control.
Was quite expensive given very basic facilities but was made up for by the view.

Ik was blij met Beautiful setting and views, the kids loved having animals around and lots of places to explore. A great location for exploring the area with plenty to do nearby. Talybont has a good shop and cafe, canal side walks and tram road walk up the reservoir. Walks in talybont forest behind the campsite also lovely.

Ik was niet blij met Toilets and shower need cleaning more often, not enough of them for a full campsite (2 loos, 1 shower). Water went off twice (sorted fairly quickly) and shower was cold.

Ik was blij met Lovely quiet area. Farm animals were a bonus. Great food available from the farm. Friendly and helpful owners. Lovely village just down the lane. Great walks close by.

Ik was blij met What a fantastic campsite!!
Amazing views, lovely walks from site.
We bought free range eggs and some sausages from the farm.
Toilets and showers clean.
Also the host Kerrie, was extremely accommodating and very helpful.

Ik was blij met Super friendly and welcoming hosts, lovely welcome message giving various useful information and met by a really nice guy on arrival. Huge camping pitches. Gorgeous views, beautiful location. Saw a beautiful gypsy wagon another couple were staying in which looked brilliant, and it seemed various other little places to stay were being built/prepped. I can imagine these will be absolutely lovely and add to what a sweet place it is when they’re complete. The peacocks, chickens and cats roaming around were a really lovely addition.

Ik was niet blij met Toilets and showers would benefit from updating. They were useable and worked fine, but the campsite is such a beautiful place, it’s a shame they’re not quite the same standard as the rest of the site.

Ty Olwyn Bach trekkershut

Ik was blij met Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved it and he loved it even more because he lives in London so coming here for him felt relaxing peaceful even in the hot tub we definitely had a lovely day adventure out to the lakes stopping in the local cafe for a breakfast we will definitely be back in a couple of weeks

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Being in the Brecon Beacons, this is naturally excellent hillwalking territory – you can head straight out onto paths directly from the farm, or ask your hosts for tips on local routes, including the Taff Trail, Henry Vaughan walk and Usk Valley Walk. If you’re trying to tick off a mountain or two, make a beeline for Pen y Fan (30 minutes' drive) or the Sugar Loaf (35 minutes) For a bigger variety of alfresco activities, head to Llangorse Lake (20 minutes) for rock climbing, watersports and horse riding outings. Closer by, Cantref Adventure Farm (15 minutes) has riding lessons and horseback treks, plus all sorts of family antics including crazy golf, tractor rides and Europe’s longest sledge ride (oh, and pig racing…) The natural scenery around here is spectacular, of course – and the towns are pretty too. Crickhowell (20 minutes), Abergavenny (half an hour) and bookshop-filled Hay-on-Wye (35 minutes) are all worth a wander.
