If you're in the market for a rural retreat, you've come to the right place. The stunningly scenic Nantgwynfaen Organic Farm – 10 minutes’ drive from the small Ceredigion town of Llandysul – is in a particularly special spot, boasting oh-so-pretty views over the Teifi river valley. As the name suggests, this site is on a working organic farm, meaning plenty of space, secluded pitches and – most importantly – the quiet of the countryside. It’s easy to sit back and enjoy that quiet too, with a firepit equipped with a grill provided for every pitch for barbecues and night-sky stargazing. Being on an organic farm has other benefits too: there's no need to travel far for eats, as the farm shop on site will sort guests with local and organic meat, eggs, fruit, veg, dairy products and lots else, including Welsh treats such as waffles, honey, ice cream and (of course) leeks. A small freezer is on hand to freeze ice blocks and there's a fridge in the games barn for storing any leftovers. This farm’s barn has been retrofitted as a games room, with table tennis, pool and darts to try hands at. Get days off to a good start with a breakfast hamper and homemade bread, before wandering off with canine chums – who are most welcome here – on lengthy rambles through countryside and along the Wales Coast Path (20 minutes away). Sustainable and green, the site uses only renewable energy is used on the site (including their own solar panels) and eco-friendly cleaning products. Every pitch is spaced out for privacy.

Deze rustige camping biedt ruime, privéplaatsen in een prachtige, goed onderhouden omgeving met vriendelijke gastheren. Ik was blij met Very private and spacious pitch in a stunning setting. The toilet and shower were spotless and the cleaning products/handwash were eco-friendly. The games room is brilliant and the whole place had a lovely feel to it.

Ik was niet blij met Not many options for dog walking from the site.

It was a bit hot for walking when you were here, but just so you are aware for next time there are lots of lovely walks around the 60 acre farm, and dogs are allowed to run off the lead in fields without livestock. If you wanted to go further afield it is a half hour stroll down a country lane to the dog friendly gastro pub nearby. Hope to see you again soon. With best wishes, Amanda and Ken

Love at First Site staanplaats voor een tent, kampeerbusje of voor vouwwagen op gras en grind zonder elektriciteit (eigen badkamer, XL)

Ik was blij met friendly owners,beautifully kept pitch completely private and quiet. pitch had private amenities such as compost toilet ,shower and washing up area , fire pit and bench. nantgwynfaen is a short drive to new quay and aberaeron is only 25 minutes. will be going back for sure

Ik was blij met Just back from the most relaxing stunning camping trip we have been on! Amanda and ken were lovely hosts very friendly. This place is a complete hidden gem, very clean and very peaceful. Everything needed was to hand and the view from our pitch for the sunset was incredible. Thank you so much for a stunning relaxing break and can't wait to return!

Ik was blij met I recently had the pleasure of staying at this campsite, and I can't say enough good things about it. The entire campsite was incredibly peaceful, offering the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The restrooms, showers, and communal areas were spotless, which made our stay that much more comfortable.
Every area was thoughtfully organized, providing ample space and privacy for each camper. The landscaping was beautiful, with well-tended plants and trees adding to the natural beauty of the surroundings. You can tell that a lot of care goes into keeping the grounds in pristine condition.

Adding to the charm of this campsite were the wonderful owners. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Their two dogs were just as delightful, adding a warm, homely touch to the experience.

Overall, this campsite is a true gem. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-maintained place to unwind with lovely hosts (and their adorable dogs), this is the perfect spot. I can't wait to return!

Van de manager: Thank you so much for the lovely review! Just so prospective campers know, there is good free wifi available at the farm shop. The pitches are out of signal so you can focus on birdsong, owl spotting and general switching off.

Make tracks immediately for the pretty Welsh coast, about 20 minutes’ drive from base. There are a wealth of spectacular beaches to choose from hereabouts, starting with the sheltered stretch at Llangrannog (20 minutes) and moving on to the hidden Mwnt beach cove and its white hillside chapel. Head north along the coast to get to the seaside town of New Quay (20 minutes) for more scenic sands, as well as sea safaris, watersports and the lovely Honey Farm – where guests can visit the meadery, see the bees at work, and sample the wares in the tearoom. Closer to base, get cosy with history at the National Wool Museum (10 minutes), then get to further grips with Wales’ past on visits to the 19th-century National Trust pile Llanerchaeron (25 minutes), the famed Dolaucothi gold mines (40 minutes) and Castell Henllys Iron Age village (also 40 minutes). For days when urban explores more suit, the site is about half an hour from Cardigan itself, where guests can shop at weekly markets, putt around the golf courses, and take a jaunt across the mouth of the Teifi to the pretty St Dogmaels and Poppit Sands, before raising a glass to successful hols at either of the two gin distilleries within 20 minutes of base.
