Tŷ-Gwyn Campsite

Ik was blij met Fantastic campsite and in my opinion the best value for money site I've ever stayed at.

The site is a generous wide open field that you can freely pick a spot on, and with the limit of 30 vehicles (I am told) it's very spacious. You can easily find a spot 10m+ away from others if you wish. It was fine for me to get my tent out as well despite having brought my van which was unexpected but appreciated.

There is a train track by the site but it only runs til about 10/11 or so; it didn't interrupt sleep for me. Also a road bordering but again it wasn't particularly busy.

Views are astonishing, on either side there are rolling hills and you can see Snowdonia mountains in the far distance. I did not visit but there is a beach which I hear is very nice about 5 mins walk away. There are also cattle in the field opposite which I quite liked watching.

Facilities are basic but good, very clean and has everything you need inc. blackwater disposal, waste bins, and washing facilities.

There were a lot of kids here playing and riding on bikes, may not be for everyone but I enjoyed the atmosphere it created. Definitely seems to be very child friendly.

Martin and Kathy were both very accomodating and friendly, happy to chat and help with anything I needed.

No WiFi here but good 4g signal so not needed for me.

Ik was niet blij met Agreed with others saying there could be more showers, I didn't run into issues but I could see it happening. Martin says they plan to double the number of showers in the near future.

Train might be bothersome to some but I enjoyed it.

I had food so this didn't affect me but the nearest shops are a little while away if you walk, just bear that in mind.

Ik was blij met Very quiet site, lots of space, really friendly owner, very chatty lovely chap. Wish we had been staying longer!
Facilities great and being improved to include fride and freezer facilities and indoor washing up for rainy days!
Couldn't fault ut at all!

Ik was blij met Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. A little slice of heaven. Facilities are top notch. Small walk to one of the best beaches I’ve been to and I’ve travelled abroad a lot. Martin is helpful, kind and is always checking in with people to make sure they are having a good time. You can tell this site is about people having a good time and not just all about the money. Already booked our next one and always thinking about the one after that!

Ik was blij met Lovely little site close to Ynyslas for beach walk. Bus to Aberystwyth a short walk away. 3 Toilets and 1 shower and 1 wash room each for male and female shower was 20p two minutes £1 for 10 minutes. Small washing up area. Recycling bins and water available. We stayed on the hard standing as we have a large motorhome and didn’t want to get stuck on the grass. The weather was fine so grass wouldn’t have been a problem.

Ik was niet blij met Could do with an extra shower 1 male 1 female isn’t enough to be honest the washroom could easily be changed to a shower instead. Nothing else to dislike

Ik was blij met Great location. Less than couple miles walk from Borth station which you can do along the beach at low-tide.
Basic set up but clean and friendly welcome. Remember your 20ps for the shower 😂

Ik was niet blij met Nothing I didn’t like. I read lots of reviews before I arrived. Will use again as great location if walking and using the train.

Ik was blij met Laid back atmosphere, helpful owner, had everything you need. Close to a beautiful beach.

Ik was blij met The toilet and shower blocks were very clean. The site owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The campsite is a hill so you can park down the bottom or on top of the hill with views to the sea on a good day. There is a railway one side and a road the other, but traffic dies down between 8pm-8am and in the 24 hours we stayed on site there were about 5 trains total. Signal at the top of the hill is best if you do need signal for anything whilst camping.
