Want to cram in several different Scottish experiences all from one location? Highland Gateway Glamping and Caravanning is in a strategic Clackmannanshire spot between Clackmannan and Kincardine (about five minutes’ drive from both) and within easy reach of all sorts of things to do and places to go. Glasgow, Stirling and the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park can all be on your schedule during a stay here: all are within a 40-minute drive. The centre of Edinburgh, meanwhile, can be reached in less than an hour. Golfers have a choice of three courses to play on nearby, plus the option of Gleneagles (40 minutes away). There are also loads of great options around for walking and cycling: it’s a 20-minute walk or five-minute bike ride to the start of the Fife Coastal Path, and the National Cycle Network route 76 passes just by the site’s driveway. Dogs are welcome (max of three per booking), and there is enclosed area on site where they can run around off lead. The campsite is next to a right of way that's great for walks – with or without dogs. You can also head out into the Ochil hills, just around the park, for a walk or a day of cycling – although there are some great views on site too for those who fancy taking in the scenery over a barbecue instead. All-weather pitches here are fully serviced and have access to a picnic area, a black water and grey water disposal point, heated toilet and shower facilities and a washing-up point. The pitches are dog-friendly (up to three dogs are permitted). If you’re planning a longer tour of Scotland, it may be handy to know that this site is well located for the Heart 200 route and the North Coast 500.

  • Honden moeten getatoeëerd of gechipt zijn.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan. Denk aan de pitbullterriër en tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro.

  • Kortingskaarten en cadeaubonnen kunnen niet gebruikt worden bij reserveringen via Pitchup.com.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 18 of ouder te zijn.
  • Dit is een rustige plek: muziek is strikt verboden.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.
  • Er is geen receptie ter plaatse: neem bij aankomst contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.
  • 10 kWh per day of electricity is included. Any further usage is metered at £0.40 per kWh and can be purchased onsite.

Ik was blij met: Toilet and shower were clean and tidy and lovely & warm. Pitch was a good size and clearly marked. Easy to find and well maintained. Bonus points for view, horses and a dog park.

Ik was blij met: Location, Very quiet and peaceful site with outstanding views. Lovely enclosed dog field on site with walks also from site. Met the owners who were very pleasant and with local knowledge. Definitely would come back and stay longer. The new pods look amazing. Highly recommend staying here.

Ik was blij met: A very well managed site with a friendly host. All pitches have a water tap and grey waste drain. A quiet location with excellent views but close to Stirling and not too far from Edinburgh. Now adults only.

Ik was blij met: Very spacious pitch. The shower hut is a great idea, and very clean. Great views to the mountains in the distance. The owner came to see us, to check everything was ok. The dog exercise field was also good.

Ik was blij met: We used this site for an overnight stop. Our host Lynn could not have been more helpful when we arrived. The site was beautifully presented and quiet with basic but functional showers and toilets which were really clean. We would recommend this site.

Van de manager: Thank you for your review and that you would recommend it to friends and visit again. However it is a bit harsh leaving and overall score of 2 for not having laundry facilities since the campsite is not advertised as having any.

Your main issue around here (and it’s a good problem to have…) will be deciding what to do first. Perhaps it’ll be a trip to Glasgow (35 minutes’ drive) to stroll through the West End, visit Glasgow Science Centre or admire the artwork at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum? Or maybe city life on a slightly smaller scale in Stirling (25 minutes), where you can visit the castle and National Wallace Monument? Sticking to the open air you may like to view the huge outdoor artwork known as The Kelpies (20 minutes) or marvel at the Falkirk Wheel (25 minutes), Scotland’s only rotating boat lift. There’s also the option of a good walk or bike ride in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park (40 minutes) or following in the footsteps of the world’s best golfers at Gleneagles (40 minutes). Want to view some animals while you’re out and about? Stop by at Briarlands Farm for a family-friendly farm day, or seek out something more exotic at Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park; both are about half an hour away.
